For those of you who dont know yet, RD580 is ATi’s dual PCIe X16 solution, meant to compete against NVIDIA’s NForce 4 SLi X16.

IF i remember correctly the Initial crossfire reference board was a great overclocker forget the DFI or ASUS samples… What i would like to see is that a smaller/non enthu brand like Asrock can come up with something more interesting… Interesting as in Cheap… Remember 939 Dual Sata 2…
ATI has tweaked the chipset so much that even if a manufacturer makes a replica of the reference board it will perform exceptionally good… So i am more interested in the offerings of the smaller brands…
that was a reference board … anyways i have read somewhere that sapphire is also planning to launch motherboard on this chipset will that made it to india … as sapphire graphics cards are available here … i remember the white PCB board from sapphire … it looked nice

That looked really neat. but the one link posted on TE at that time was not very informative abt how well it actualyl performs.
This really looks like a killer mobo… Waiting to see some real benchies and oc results.
^^^^It was White and slots were RED and series was “PURE” if I remember it right. Well Sappire’s boards are doing fine… no not in Sales but with some Pure OCing. I doubt the new ones will come to India tho… Damn suddenly I have a feeling that i should visit my cuzz in Singapore 
is sapphire boards are out AFAIK they were just reference boards and sapphire is planning to launch ATi boards

[li]RD580 is a true Dual x16 PCIe design with both x16 PCIe slots off the north bridge, instead of pieced together from existing parts.[/li][li]The RD580 was designed from the ground up for high-speed overclocking. In fact, most RD580 boards will be able to run at around 300 clock frequency at the base 5X (1000) HTT frequency instead of having to drop to 3X (600) as on other chipsets.[/li][/ul]

Last but certainly not the least is the UK’s own Scan computers. Not only that those guys publicly showcased the motherboard they even sold couple of those boards last week. You can check the specs here. The board won’t be cheap as it will end up at £146.86 including VAT, a slightly more than €214 or $255 but we are sure that the US and European price will land just around 199.00 price mark. It is a high end board packed with features and somehow we know that FSB 300 is piece of cake for this very good overclocker.
Yes, Spot on there. Well on XS 3-4 members has already got it and are busy making WR for 3DM05/06 with FX60 and X1900XTCF :D… yeah now there are very few who will not like this. Some are waiting for the DFI RD580 to reach them too…
Crossfire is a dead technology, you need have a ATi X800 based Master Card and anyother card as secondary. They can ever beat the NVidia’s SLi Technology, where you have the option of adding ATi or NVidia’s Graphics Card. NVidia will always dominate, that’s for sure.
that not true dude … CF is not matured enuf … it will take some time and will be a good competition to SLI …

Come on guys…I think hes saying that you can use both (different) cards on SLI based boards. One is ATI Card another is NVIDIA Card… just like they demoed at the launch of “SLI”. It cant be both being used in SLI at once as there is a fundamental issue…
