Hi guys,
Went thru a lot of info finally have decided to buy an purifier using ultra filtration. now the question is which one. pls help me shortlist from the below mentioned.
Aquaguard ultra -
4 Stages
dunno about the membrane size.
Price- 7500
Dolphin UF Standard
2 stages , Prefilter and Membrane
Membrane - 0.01 micron ultrafiltration membranes(Referred from website)
Price- ??
Permionics -Pureflo
2 stages- PreFilter and Membrane
Membrane - 0.1 (Referred from a article)
Price-Rs 6000 appx
If u guys have used anyone of these pls advice which one to buy. Will the 4 stages in aquaguard be better? or is the membrane size more important?
Thanks
Rahulkamath79, even after getting a response for the earlier query there is no point repeating the same question letter to letter, requestioning is expected if some more clarifications are required. :@
this way you will even discourage a few responders.
medpal
i posted the question because i did not get the answer for the same.(read the question at the end.) u posted ur reply based on ur experience. i just wanted to know if there was anybody else who had used anything other than permionics.

rahulkamath79, thats what i wanted to point out.
if you want more opinions you can ask for followup queries that friends want some more opinions.
like emil has posted info he got from the company, while you did not do that even after told to do it.
if you keep researching and keep updating queries then it will serve the purpose of forums.
Secondly this is being tech related forums there are likely very less replies to this kind of topic so you should be content with it and keep pestering.
Now to your answer :
As Permionics is the only membrane manufacturer in India all the companies source from them for their UF / RO products.
SO which products to go for is upto you as considering Price / Availability / Service Support.
Of the options you have listed i would definitely suggest go for Pureflo but to avaid anything that has Eureka Forbes tag, thats my opinon. Rest upto you.
I second that.
By the way rahulkamath, medpal is one guy eminently qualified to be consulted on this subject. He has had opportunities to personally conduct research that few others on this forum would have. I for one would trust his advice implicitly.
hey medpal,
thanks a lot. going for the pureflo. will get it installed this week. got a reply from them. Hope they have a good service in mumbai.
you are welcome mate.
glad to be of help.
Hmmm..
First thing..Permionics is not the only manufacturer of the UF membranes as of today…
Dolphin purifiers uses the membrane technology patented by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Mumbai, the details can be obtained from BARC develops unique water purifier . The major advantsge is that:
Devices based on ultrafiltration membrane can physically remove bacteria, suspended solids and high molecular weight organics without the use of electricity, at tap water pressure, mainly by sieving (size-exclusion) mechanism. The useful life of this membrane device depends on configuration of the membrane. Most of the existing membrane devices employ UF membrane in either spiral, capillary or hollow fibre form. A drawback with these configurations is that they cannot be completely cleaned physically and due to deposition of suspended solids, their output keeps on decreasing with time. The on-line domestic water purifier developed at BARC’s Desalination Division is based on this ultrafiltration membrane in cylindrical configuration, which is free from these limitations.
Hence suggested to go for Dolphin. Another manufacturer for this type is Rupali industries under the brand name of B’Nova. priced at 3000.
hey bigbyte,
ne idea how to buy the dolphin water purifier
