as i posted in the signature contest sometimes there are few pages of replies with about 30-40 posts per page. So having 100kb sigs would be like having 1mb plus downloads per page and it will be a pain on those with slow connections. (even on a 256 connection it will be a pain)
Anyways you can wait for the admins to reply as well.
Also if you notice any sig exceeding rules Do Report It
its possible to use larger sizes if they upload the sig on a third party imagehosting site and link it up.not sure but i think admins plan to disable image tags in siggy
Just wanted to clear up this misconception.. Larger image size (in KB) is not really an issue of it being a burden on the server or wherever you host the image, but more along the lines of it being a burden on an end user! While a vast majority of us are shifting to broadband, not everyone has unlimited data plans or high speeds. These limitations are in place only for their convenience.
You guys have to petition for better broadband access, so that you guys get better sigs
Imo, tht is not a right thing to do..imagetags are gr8 tool to host avatars and siggies..it wud be better to warn those who exceed the limits of the file size or the dimensions instead of disabling the img tag in sigs…
Members can help find those whose siggies dont comply with the rules…
