My premium a/c expired on 27 July, i’m so glad i didn’t renew it.
RS is blocking IP’s in the 59.170 -59.189 subnet due to hacking attemps frm some of these ip’s.
Ip’s allotted to MTNL lie in this subnet. RS might unblock once the attacks subside.
Till that is done the only solution is proxy servers… or you can use your neighbors wifi connection like i am :devil:
Most of the free proxy’s aren’t working… atleast for me.
Use this, it works. Its quite slow thought ~15KBps
It might be due to a large number of Cross Site Scripting holes on the rapidshare site. Many types of malware these days are configured to automatically look for and continuously attempt to exploit these types of flaws in websites . Considering that the 59.* subnet is blocked, it isn’t very surprising as many of the machines on it are usually infected with some form of windows malware (Try plugging in an unpatched Windows XP machine directly to the net).
Its not a sour grapes lament as anyway was thinking of abandoning RS altogether since they capped free users at 500 kbps. I have always tried to maximize my use of alternatives coz these guys hate us free users so much.
There was life before RS and there will be without. I just hope that other share sites don’t follow suit.
it started yesterday just a few minutes after midnight..damn… just when the free download period starts.. bloody hell!!! :(… hope it gets sorted out soon!!
^I already have a ready buyer which is my friend who is on Airtel & is out of this IP range.He is ready to buy it but I’ll just give it a few more days & then give it out to him.BTW it’s just BSNL & MTNL which are majorly affected & not all the other ISP’s so yeah pretty much anyone outside of that IP range would be willing to get an a/c.
