i mean i m using ipod nano.. n its very nice.. except that the head phones provided wid it suck big time.. and except that when compared to the creative mp3 player which one of my friend has, it doenst hav a fm tuner,it cant b directly connected to the usb port n used as USB Flash drive and it costs 9.5k more… except these its gr8 :slight_smile:

sorry guys nothing personal but i feel sometime you guys talk to much about quality and VFM stuff.
if you have ipod costs you over 24000 and even it fells anywhere wont you do anything to save it?
same amount gold ring or something is there then what you will do?

why such feelings for ipod. i am not talking this because i love it. i done even use it in india. it was good timepass in tokyo while traveling in trains.i still love my 60GB video.

As I said in another thread, audiophilia or great quality music can wait till I get home…While on the move, I am more interested in the ability to switch from an Abba to Yanni in 5 seconds flat…with a reasonable sound quality to boot…

I haven’t been able to find a single player (other than the ipod) that can do this for me..I randomly picked up a iriver pmp-120 too but it is currently gathering dust in the closet..Can you please hellp me find one?

Feeling sorry for ipod users was just an expression :stuck_out_tongue: I have nothing against ipod or iriver or zen users - it might just be me, but I’d rather not have gadgets on me… but I love the access I have to gadgets whenever I need them. There music on my PC/in my car works for me - and I’m completely ok if it takes me 3x more time to switch from ABBA to Yanni (2 of my favorite non-rock/metal artists btw ;)).

LOL…never mind…I actually got slightly pissed off at what seemed like a condescending attitude displayed towards a decent gadget by people many of which (and I don’t mean you ) have probably never even used one , just coz it’s considered kinda hip (in a silly way) to diss the ipod :stuck_out_tongue:

I saw and used an ipod before it was common in India - mind you I got it, not bought it :wink: So I’m not dissing any mp3 player, but I’m questioning the need for having one besides it being “cool” and the “in-thing” just as it was in the US a couple years ago (when everyone had to have one ;)).

EDIT: Btw, being geek has nothing to do with having or not having an Ipod - I caught the sarcasm there, it just seemed outta place because I’m far from geek LOL.

The answer lies in the fact that If (and only if) you need a portable DAP…and your prioirities are ease of use coupled with decent sound quality, and you couldn’t be less bothered with fancy features that you’ll never use…In that case, the ipod fits the bill perfectly :slight_smile:

It’s silly to buy any gadget just coz it’s “cool” or the “in-thing” if you don’t need one

I picked up one coz it was the right fit for my needs and was priced well too..and I haven’t been able to find any other player so far that fits my needs so well :smiley:

Well Rio u are right when you say u have access to music whenever you need it, like in car or at home.

But as Czar said some people like to listen to music anywhere ( maybe in the bathroom also :stuck_out_tongue: ). The point being u can wear it while jogging, in the gym, while cooking ( in my case ). And for the people like me who dont have car or dont have a pair of speakers in my comp. , i like the mobility affordable at the expense of 5K ( my T610 ).

I for once love my player not coz its hip, but coz i can listen to music while walking to my office, in bus, while cooking. There may be something cool about the IPod, but to people who buy for other reasons “Cool” is not the first priority.

Reading the title of this post I remember a incident that happened with me. I have a pen drive with me Transcend 1 GB. Which got washed with my pants in the washing machine. I was praying to GOD (the most imp thing) and then plugged it in my office machine *poof8 capacity = 2.90 GB damn I knew it was fried. So feeling bad that I burnt my fingers to a tune of 1k I was sulking when after a day I plugged it in my home pc and vola it was showing 993 MB properly. Since then I check my pants regularly before throwing them to wash and also keep my pendrive very safe.
