12 pm?

Maybe it is a bug in the underlying software TechEnclave uses but it is very annoying. What does 12 pm mean? Example http://www.techenclave.com/872036-post16.html .
Can someone here ask for a bug fix in the software? Tell them that time can be either 12 noon, pm, 12 midnight, or am.

thanks
Bingo

12pm is afternoon…isnt it???

heh yeah noon..

what kind of question is this ? there are only 2x 12’s, am and pm .

come on guys. What does 12 pm mean?

  1. Is it 1 minute before 12:01 am ? Which is same as one minute after 11:59pm ? That is midnight.

  2. Or is it 1 minute before 12:01 pm? Which is same as one minute after 11:59am?
    That is noon.

And why did you choose 1 or 2 whichever you choose?

In case you don’t know, 12 PM means noon and 12 AM means midnight.

There’s nothing annoying about this and kindly don’t make such unnecessary threads in Feedback Corner in future.

PS: 1 min after 11:59 PM is 12 AM and 1 min after that is 12:01 AM

Similarly, 1 min after 11:59 AM is 12 PM and 1 min after that is 12:01 PM

You are right in the first part: there are only 2x 12’s.
Those 2 12’s are: 12 noon and 12 midnight.

I understand where you’re coming from and that technically 12AM can refer to both midnight and noon.

But it is sort of an accepted convention that

12AM → 12 midnight

12PM → 12 noon

Check the clock in your systray to confirm

Lol how can this be annoying :stuck_out_tongue:

^^perceptions…comhrehensions;)

I think the OP thought 1 min after 11:59 pm is 12pm and 1 min after 11:59am is 12am?? :S

1 min after 11:59 pm is 12:00 am. (midnight)
1 min after 11:59 am is 12:00 pm. (noon)
Period. :stuck_out_tongue:

Why so serious?

12PM = 12AM = beer time!!

phew, quite a blissful crowd here. Sorry for trying to disturb your bliss.

have a good night
cheers
