8800GT Vs 8800GTS

Ok, how much of a difference in performance are we talking here?

Point is, i already have the EVGA 8800GT (Superclocked version @ 650). Happy with it actually…even the cooler is ok (i run fans @ 75% while gaming and temps stay below 70 so me ok with it).

Just thinking..does it make any sense to go for the GTS? just the usual upgrade urges :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

yes ! i am planning to a new graphic card ! is there much diff between GT and GTS ? is GTS worth the extra Ks ? thx

GTS OCs better, OCed GTS can beat 8800GTX  , BTW GTS consumes more power too. Whatever U will feel gain only @ 1600X1200 or above.

If you have a overclocked 8800GT, best you can expect is <15% more performance with a reference 8800GTS. does not justify an upgrade as it also entails spending around 4-5K more. Instead, if you want to upgrade, wait and then go for overclocked 9800GTX that will definitely beat 8800 Ultra. Launch is on April 1.

but that ll b exp as hell…n me not that rich…

@punjab: me not interested in OCin a graphics card much..esp considering that i ll get one with US warranty  power not an issue.

but me currently on 1024 res :stuck_out_tongue: where i guess my E2140 is more of a bottleneck  will upgrade to a 19"/22" nxt year :stuck_out_tongue: so i think till then i can stick with this only then

just couldnt resist that post rebate price of 230$ for the GTS

If you are getting it from US, it should not cost you more than what 8800GTS costs now. Of course, the prices will settle down only after 2 to 3 weeks of launch

msi 8800gts from newegg

215$ after rebate,can you still resist?:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
what speed is your 2140 at? and at 1024 res your 8800gt should continue eating up games till we see crysis 2.:cool2:

 to MSI in this case  215$ + 7$ shipping = 222$. i wud rather take the EVGA for 230$(free shipping) for the better warranty they offer

E2140@2.2Ghz at stock cooling. Else it gets too hot. i prefer keepin it below 57C.

Think will stick with wat i have..this was just a thot…else might just give in if i find someone coming over

One of my cousins came 2 weeks back form chicago without even letting me kno first :@ :@:@

upgrade not recommended as performance gain is marginal…if u really wanna satisfy ur urge to upgrade get performance ram such as xms2 or hyperx

nah…i wud rather do a proccy/cooler upgrade first
