I’ve not been following the scene for a while now, and I have no idea about the latest developments. I did a few searches on the web but did not really find what I was looking for.
Question is:
I have a fat PSP with 3.40 OE-A custom firmware.
Should I upgrade to 3.71 M33 ? Are there any limitations or anything with that version?
If I should upgrade, how do I go about doing so? From what I understand it isn’t a direct jump from 3.40 to 3.71 M33, so where do I start?
Do not upgrade.. as there arent any significant changes for u to be taking the pain..

I went from 3.40 OE-a to 3.52 M33 [M33 is still dark alex, different naming scheme]

You can then go from 3.52 M33 to 3.71 if you want to by using

I can personally say 3.52 M33 gives me a bit better battery life than 3.40 OE-a and a better compatibility for no-UMD. I don’t know about 3.71 though.
PS: my browser is broken in 3.52 M33 Update 1. [3.52 M33 has about 4 updates I think]
Yea sorry ..prolly i forgot ki u can actually go to 3.52M33 directly..
But quite frankly no need for doing that as that battery enhancement is not something ppl associate with M33 .. i havent heard any other user saying that.. and No UMD is not something that important that u wd wanna seek with that vigour ..
Ppl are simply waiting for a more enhanced version of a CFW .. be it dark alex (i kno he retired, but who knows) or any other team which wd allow more capabilities..
Recently an application allowed the homebrews to run on full screen mode on the TV for the slims.. so i wd be rather holding onto the 3.40 OE-A til a CFW encorporating other features is released.
Btw No UMD wd allow u to save upon the laser of the UMD drive ..
Personally for me, better no-UMD means I never have any UMD in my drive, hence improved battery.

I upgraded to 3.52 becasue a couple of demos didn’t run on my older firmware. So you may not require to upgrade as yet.

The way to downgrade from 3.40 OE A is :
3.40 OE → 3.52 M33 → 3.52 M33-4 → 3.71 M33 → 3.71 M33-2 → 3.71 M33 1.5 kernel addon
Move on to v3.71 M33-2 … the minor additions are worth the move …
