Advice for 2.0 Pc speakers...

Guys i need to buy a 2.0 speakers.
The reason: i simply don’t have space for a subwoofer. plus the cable mess and the most important of em alll heavy base can be really disturbing for people around you after 12 in the night :stuck_out_tongue:
Which of these speaker is better…
- Creative Gigaworks T20
- Klipsh Promedia Ultra 2.0

I had seen one of a Klipsch in the show off section. I guess its available here then. but what about the creative speakers. are they available here??

I’m leaning towards Klipsch cause most of the brand value (at least i think it has some :stuck_out_tongue: ). Please help guys…my budget is around 8k. Are there any shops in chennai where i can go and listen to them before buying???

A Comparison…(they didn’t give a comprehensive conclusion :@ )

Finally is it a good idea to go for a locally made amp + bookshelf instead of this for the same price
Thanks in advance for the replies guys…cheers!!!

why 2.0 specifically?

have a look at the wharfedale diamond 8.1 active monitors… they seem quite nice… dunno the price tho

btw, if you are willing to go unbranded, you can get some pretty good bargains

Thanks GreenHorn  - 2.0 is due to lack of space…and my mom hates booming bass…

The wharfedale speakers - can they be directly connected to the comp??? If they need an amp. then they’d be totally out of my budget…

Plus space is real issue. i really want to avoid big bulky speakers…unless of course their performance is extremely good…and I’m more into soul, r and b, and malayalam songs…though i do listen to metal every once in a while…so bass is not really an issue…

Edit: can someone tell me what the price of these wharfedale is in india???
And bout unbranded stuff…but i have no technical knowledge whatsoever…so i think i’d rather stick with something branded…unless i have no other option…

Er, oops.. they need an amp… thought they were active… sowwie for getting your hopes up :frowning:

a good stereo setup is ALWAYS bulkier than its equivalent 2.1 and a good refined 2.1 like the altec lansing MX 5021 shouldnt sound boomy at all.ever heard the altec lansings? at 8k, they’re real fine , and they’re cheapest in madras:D

I know they sound good…but its the size…
My room is about a 100 sq.ft with a full size bed a steel almirah…:S
There is hardly enough space to sit in front of the computer…
And a big woofer is a big no no…
The speakers even if they are big can be mounted on the wall…the same cant be done with the woofer, can I?? :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: so please recommend me a 2.0 system for under 8k (now thats te max!!!)

Klipsch man… get klipsch.

My previuos room was 64 sq.ft :stuck_out_tongue: I kept the mx5021 sub under the bed  It affected the bass somewhat, but then I had no choice :stuck_out_tongue:

For 2.0, your only option in branded is the klipsch. Unfortunatley, Swan speakers aren’t available in India. :frowning: Their M200 is simply the best.

Thanks for the advice guys  The klipsch it is then…

@Zhops…i don’t have space even under the bed…its got huge drawers

Good choice, Klipsch speakers are better.

early reviews said that the creatives sounded nicer than the klipsch but lacked in bass compared to klipsch

but knowing our market it will be at some insane price so go with the klipsch

Does anybody know how good is the promedia ultra 2 compared to the mx5021 ??

The Mx 5021 is a 2.1 speaker system with a subwoofer…It gives you more bass…the promedia ultra 2.0 doesn’t have a sub…so it lacks bass but saves space…

get the mx5021, unless u have no space for the sub, in which case get the klipsch.

then how is atp3

atp is good vfrm speaker set…can’t compare to mx & promedia

dubudhi buy atp3 dude good small and also with subwoofer.

^^ he doesnt have floor space for a sub. he wants something wall mountable
