Ambiguous Thread titles

Nowadays, I’m finding a lot of forum newbies using very non descriptive thread titles.

Things like , say

“help me” , or “weird problem” etc. Its very hard to make sense of the search results and the forum index, and I’m sure we’re losing a lot of search result hits because of this.

Can the mods/support staff be a bit proactive in renaming ( and if possible, organizing) the threads?

I dont expect much from newbies, and dont think becoming too strict on them would be a good idea. Would just scare them away.

On the other hand, we’re more than happy to help with making TE better - anything we can do to help?

speaking frm a newbie point of view…tht would be helpful…

I am gradually understanding the how the forum tools and threads work…

Made my first trade too ..with a few minor hiccups…

as a newbie :

I used to bump very old threads…

ask a lot of help from the mods… (still do by the way)

Yep absolutely, we try our best to rename such vague thread titles to more descriptive ones. Another common occurrence is typos in thread titles, when people are in a bit of a hurry.

We do try to cover everything we come across (I often end up shifting/renaming quite a few threads in PC peripherals section).. but in case there’s anything we miss, you can always make a post or report the thread with suitable thread title suggestions.

Thanks for helping out

for me TE is not new but for te m a newbie

i like evry1 out there to atleast look at the intro section … it wud be grt then…dunno why quality response and participation decreases by the old members.

people generally dont look into the individual sections. They use the ‘new posts’ link due to which some threads get burried if there is a lot of activity.

How does the Intro section have anything to do with quality participation?
