I have an M2N-Vm DH motherboard with an AMD x2 5200+ windsor core…i installed asusprobe software dat i got wit da cd…it shows me weird temperature readings…sumtimes after booting my pc wen i start dat software…it shows me 99 degrees C (while dis other software called CORE temp shows both my cores @ an avg of 55 degrees C) …
wen i restart da pc…den start ASUS probe…it wil show da temp as normal ( 50 - 55* C) but den core temp shows it much lower…
I feel core temp is showin the TRUE temp…I also kno my processor is runnin at a higher temp den normal…but den it neva goes above 60 degrees at all…as far as i kno AMD’s can run AARAM se upto 80 degrees C
Also 1 more issue is dat wen i start Asus probe… the “WAVE” slider in my Volume control panel goes off o_O…den i hav 2 manually put it to my normal setting of 75% of the slider…
i too get false readings..but not much…if my BIOS shows 26-28, probe shows about 32-36…the mobo readings and Vcore readings are jus fine…try updatin it…the one they give with the cd is a really old version…
:O.
That was true to some extent for some socketA AthlonXP chips- not for the newer ones.
Present day AMD dual cores (even 939 ones) are best kept below 50-55C at any clock speed.
