Why do you want larger avatars when you want others to block them?
Dont you think that each person on a forum is identified by his nick, sig and avatar?
So, if some of you are using adblock as already suggested above, why do you want an increase in the avatar sizes?
Besides, what about those users on a fixed bandwidth plan or on dialup? Cant they too enjoy some amount of liberty and view the avatars and sigs?
What about those not so rich members who cannot afford a bigger/better monitor?
They are not different than you. They too share the same enthusiasm for Technology and for TE. Then, why should they be asked to block avatars just coz they cant afford to have a bigger resolution or a better monitor or a better connection?
I feel that the answers to these questions, if you all think logically and correctly as a member of a community and for the welfare of all ppl/members of the community, will drive you to the conclusion that the current limits are set keeping in mind the welfare of all the members and are perfect for all.
Besides, would it harm you all with better monitors to step down a notch in ur screen resolution?
View your avatars at 1024 and there is nothing much missing from them.

Well, firstly, we mentioned, keep the Size the SAME. I.E. the 20kb which is there currently. Let it be that, just it should be 100*100.
So dont argue about Load Times. As it wont make a slight bit of difference.
8080 is too small for me even at 1024768. Its NOT “Complete”.
Also, only Aces wants to Adblock the avatar. Thats upto him. Hes just fighting for it not to be changed, hes not really gonna AdBlock em. Whats the differece if only the Dimensions are more, not the Size?

I was referring to the other post which pointed out the avatar and sig blocking feature of the forum.
Step down a notch.
Use it for one to two days and it wont appear blurred.

So if there can be such big avatars (bigger than 100x100 )in the default gallery then wats the point in arguing tat we cant have custom avatars of 100x100 size with the same sizelimit 20kb

I dunno what the big deal is anyways. XT has point there, majority of the users use 800*600 resolution ( I am not talking abt the regular users ) The point being how many offices or cyber cafes even have 17 inch CRT monitors ?
