Better deal than Viewsonic VX2025wm ?

Hi friends,
I feel the change of my 19" Samsung 997DF now. my research & friend’s recommendations lead me ViewSonic VX2025wm to be best bang for the Buck at the moment. its for 21K flat im getting in Delhi. 1680x1050 P-MVA panel

Just want a second opinion from the experienced here if there is some better deal over this one, like any better BENQ panels (in talks these days) or anything else worth waiting for ?

thx

If you’re looking for good quality 8-bit LCD screens, you have very very few choices in India.

At the 20" segment you have only the Dell 2007WFP and the vx2025WM. The Dell is a few K’s more expensive than the vx2025. AFAIK Benq does not have any 8-bit panel dislpays here in India.

About the waiting issue - the vx2025WM is being phased out by a TN-panel based vx2035WM. Needless to say the replacement model isnt all that good, so if you want the 2025wm, you should get it ASAP

thx - yeah I know the info u stated above & thx for re-enforcing the study & narrowing my decision to the subject itself. I’m not much familiar with 8bit-6 bit match of these TFT’s - can u pls explain at glance the math of it.

Thx alot.

A 6-bit display can basically render a smaller range of colour than a 8-bit. The math is something like this. The bits refer to each of the three basic colours. Thus each basic colour can have 2^6 or 64 variants. Thus a 6-bit display gives you 2^18 or 64x64x64 colours. This means theoretically 256 K colours.
For an 8-bit, each basic colour can have 2^8 that is 256 variants. Therefore, an 8-bit display will have the capacity to render 2^24 or 256x256x256 colours. This is theoretically 16 M colours.
Hope that is clear.

lol yeah - thx for the simple explaination…
now coming to the Juice of it… the ViewSonic VX2025wm is the best one at the moment to grab right ?

I guess i still have a week to arrange the money. Shall await more votes/suggestions by that time.

Best buy for the price. Go for it.
