Iam using Windows Vista Ultimate and i have recently purchased an USB Bluetooth Dongle. But Vista is not detecting the device. It simply connects it as "Unknown Device" .
The CD which i got along with had Blue soleil software which supports XP.But i managed to download the Version that supports even Vista.Even then Vista is not detecting the Bluetooth dongle.:@
In the device manager do you see the USB Bluetooth when you plug it in, if yes is there any question mark if yes then you need to uninstall and re-install the drivers. If after plugging your USB Bluetooth you do not see it the device manager then you need to uninstall all the USB Controllers then restart VISTA and then try. Also the VISTA drivers are they official.
When i plug in the device,it shows"Unknown USB device".
How can i uninstall the USB controller?Becuase as soon as i uninstall the controllers from device manager, windows automatically reinstalls the USB controllers so windows doesnt give me the chance to uninstall - restart & reinstall!
hmmm… i had a very weird prob in vista.. which when i googled… saw many other had it too… the prob i faced was that after installing the blue solail software.. the latest version… and after restarting my PC… i would get a BSOD… and windows would fail until i removed the damm thing from safe mode… even then it wouldent be completly removed…
so mmm guess this dint answer question…sorry but thought i should share my xp.
when u get unkonown device right click and click on properties, then try to install the driver u downloaded, u need to boot into safe mode to remove the usb controllers. Also try using windows update and check whether any updates are available for your hardware.
man ,vista +blue tooth =trouble.after installing my drivers once i restarted i was not able to log in,even in safe mode failed, had to reinstall.so stay away till they fix the issue
