Was in Dubai for the shopping festival and saw the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 at a computer game store. The price was really cheap compared to what it sells for over here so I picked it up immediately. Came to around Rs. 1550 after conversion.
Nothing beats this shape for a right hander IMO. No wonder this mouse is still extremely popular 6 years from its introduction.
Great mouse but the sensitivity is a bit too low for modern large screens IMHO. These things cost me 20-25$ and have one sitting in my closet somewhere. Had bought it to use with my laptop but never did :P.
^lol i don’t care about looks. this mouse has flawless performance and perfect shape.
maybe i should have titled the thread “best pro-gaming mouse” since most pro gamers use either 640x480 or 800x600 as their resolution and the 400 dpi of this mouse is more than enough for that. it’s may NOT be good for large displays where you set the resolution to 1600x1200 or higher but it’s fantastic for competitive play.
the best part is that i’m able to bind all 5 buttons in a game without having to install any drivers.
@pappu, yea the 3.0 came out before the 1.1s. the success of this sensor pushed microsoft to include it with other mice as well. about the mx518, it’s decent but the shape is too weird for me
@bittu, i didn’t need the death adder as i don’t go higher than 800x600 while playing q3, cs etc. no point in spending more for a mouse that will perform exactly the same as the 3.0 at these resolutions.
hmm u surprised me…and after all the skill is in the hands of the gamer. I asked a UT veteran (I mean GOD) what mouse he used, and he gave me a link to Microsoft Optical PS@ (the one with red base)
