Hi
I’m having a problem with my browsing the net at home. I’m unable to open orkut, gmail, facebook,etc with Opera or Firefox. They open very slowly with IE.
Any suggestions

There could be many reasons. One that comes to my mind could be your DNS server. Try using open DNS.
Vince, same thing happened with me since last 2-3 weeks. i finally formatted my pc last weekend and everything is back to normal.. there are some viruses/spywares which doesnt alow to open those websites…
It happened on XP and on vista (Dualboot) every site opened fast…
so i suggest u to format ur PC or get all viruses off ur system. even spyware cleaning didnt help me.. i also posted about this problem on te last month.
If your ISP is BSNL
his ISP is tata indicom. I’ve asked him to try openDNS as well

Hmmm back to square one..Sites arent opening again..
My work-around.. Ctrl_Alt_Del → Explorer-> End Process
and everything works 
(except i now cant download files directly)

same thing is happening since sunday.. there is some trojan atack going on on the internet. its call virtumonde but i am not sure about it… now google/orkut/yahoo etc doesnt open in vista also. i dont know what to do. whether to format again or not… TE/rediff etc works perfect
