Guys, isnt it possible to have the same nickels system tht we have in FE, here in TE too?? It wud really be fun to ‘buy’ some stuff from a market place like titles, bold fonts etc. Wot say?? 
It was, after much thought decided that we shall not have the Nickel system continuing on TE. Lets see what the admins have to say on this. Please wait till they reply. Thanks.
We had it earlier… it was removed and FE was formed.
This is a tech site…so, no “fun” as such. That is what Funenclave is there for 
dont know about the nickels but…it would be nice to have the related threads thingy that shows the related threads at the bottom of the page.
Aww cmon..who says tech guys cant have some fun…as for FE, buddy, its like a completely independent forum… members have to register thr separately, dont they? 
So i think, having the nickel system here wont hurt…TE can have its own system and FE its own..
Dont you think, those who do not wish to register@ FE shud get some goodies here as well??

Afaik, you dont need to re-register at FE. Your TE id will work. And putting all this stuff here defeats the very purpose of starting FE. :no:
IMO, all the threads about books and movies should be moved to FE.

When FE was started, the entire TE member database was copied there. But after few weeks or so, the id of the members who haven’t logged in even once were deleted.

See depends on how nickels will be given. If its by post count then we will have spam fest we had when nickels were in place here. For tech site its bad bad bad.
Based on reps - sure, those who think they require something in return for their contribution of this forum can has some stuff given to them based on their reps. But then again even now where there is nothing that is achievable other than real reputation from reps, we see people asking for reps for their every post or repping others for the posts which do not deserve reps just hoping they will rep em back ( oh yead this is trend lately for me. god knows why i received reps for some useless post i made )

^^Bro..thts the whole point of the nickels tht i’m talkin about..like u said, getting reps doesnt really materialize into anything at the moment on TE other than giving you some feel good…so atleast nickels cud be used to get cool thingies like titles etc. Trust me, it’ll make TE more enjoyable for new members. I agree nickels based on posts will lead to spamfest..so thr shud be some other criteria for giving nickels..n reps seem to be the best criteria..tht way only those ppl who truly deserve reps for their contributions will get the nickels which he cud use anyway he wants…

No nickels for TE for following reasons:
- The very hack has been taken off vbulletin for being a security risk. FE is running a customized version.
- The whole idea of nickels is based on spamming. It suits fun sites and not tech sites.
Rep based system can be though of, only it has to be coded, Maybe next update(and anyway only thing it might have is bold, coloured names) nothing else.
OT: No FE requires you to register seperately. The only users that were actually ported were aboout 100 and those were retained as they had posted. Apart from that userbase is different to TE.
