CPU Cooler Advice

bought Sunbeamtech CCF 2days ago for 90nm 5200+…

was a PITA to install…

but damn this cooler is gr8.

running 5200+(2600MHz) at 2760MHz

idling @24c (36c wid amd stock hsf)

full load @44c (58c wid amd stock hsf)

CCF was at 1500RPM for above figures. (max speed 2000rpm)

Alrite alrite i am getting this monster. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Damn, nothing comes cheaper in TE…:stuck_out_tongue:

But the cooler itself is 150mm tall. And i have a 35mm fan on the side panel so i doubt it would fit…
Would it touch the side panel in the ATX case? And should i move the fan to the outside? Or will it fit?

yup the cooler almost touches the side panel.

had to remove the side panel fan n fit it from the out side.

looks weird on the outdise bt keeps cool inside.

seems that u also have m2a-vm.

the installation is painful. remove the psu prior to the installation.

It seems u have one of them. Is it?

I am thinking of rotating my side panel by 180 so that the above side panel fan would blow over the RAM and also give cool air to the fan of the Cooler. And the below fan would blow directly over the 9600GT fan. Dat’s a good idea as far as i think. :cool2:

BTW, how much are ur improvements after using the Sunbeam on ur 5200+. Have u overclocked it? What were ur temps with stock cooler and now?

read post #21 for temps on stock speed.

wid OC..

1.55Vcore, 247x13 → 3211MHz

idle 40c full load 52-54 (dnt remember correctly)

this is wid fan at 2000rpm/full speed.

as for side panel fans.

i have removed the upper one.

have fit the lower one from outside…cools rams n gfxcard.

Sunbeam CCF>Xigmatek Achilles 1284~Xigmatek S1283 is what I’d vouch for!!

Didn’t bother reading the above posts so pl excuse!!!

True > Ccf ?

no CCF and xigmatek both beat the TRUE :stuck_out_tongue:

yup.

TRUE at inr~2700 without fan isnt able to keep up wid much cheaper n better CCF and Xigmatek.

@Madnav,

While installation did u had to push the side levers on the Cooler over the processor bracket to fit in? I read in one of the reviews that the Cooler doesn’t fit a AM2 board et all and they had to push it very hard(which could damage the processor i believe or the Cooler Mount) for it to fit in.
And it seems as u told, i’ll have to remove the PSU before installation which is a pain in the a**.

Any Pics of ur rig mate that u can show me, i would be thankful
