CPU Cooler Advice

Hey guys,

I have zeroed in on some three CPU Coolers for my AMD X2 4200+. Plz help me decide which one to go for.

Newegg.com - ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Newegg.com - Rosewill RCX-Z940-LX 92mm Ball CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Newegg.com - Rosewill RCX-Z940-SL 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Also, any advice regarding locally available components would be cool. :cool2: I heard of the Vanquisher but heard that’s not dat good.

However, I am on a tight budget of 1.3K. So, plz advice in that range.

Bye

if only you could increase ur budget by 700 more.. you get a real good a/f cooler for 2k. Its the sunbeam core contact. If not then the first one is worth the money, i would not recommend rosewill.

i have a arctic freezer 7 for intel and it dropped my cpu temp by 14c

Be wary of arctic… techie_007 had this one for himself… not much of a difference.

The Sunbeam CCF is a pretty good cooler, currently running my Q6600 at 37 idle (coolest core). Compared to the Freezer7 (identical to the 64 Pro), which was running the E6600 at 45 idle.

Guys, come on. I am now more confused.

Isn’t Rosewell a good brand? I saw reviews of Arctic Cooling and it looks good. However, the user reviews of the Rosewell sounds better than the Arctic Freezer. And Vanquisher performance sucks as far as i know.

So, what should i go for?

freezer 7 and those rosewills will not yield any specific improvements unless the ambience temp is good enuf. These are just substitutes for the stock coolers, which can help reduce temp by 5-10deg max imo. Go for Sunbeam CCF dude, its really good.

how are you going to get it here??
coz when my friend asked for a quote from kmd, it came to 2k for the rosewill cooler too
in such a case, i would say its better to go for the AC freezer 7 pro

EDIT:: btw, the 940 LX is also the same as the akasa AK-965 and its really good.

pappu AC freezer 7 pro supports AMD 939/AM2 ?

Abhi, I really think you should extend you budget by another 700 bucks and the SUnbram CCF is really excellent VFM, I would recommend the Tru90i but the cooler alone is for arnd 2k, and then ull have to spend anywhere arnd 500 for a decent fan, so the top option would be the Sunbeam CCF.

Guys,
where can u find the Sunbeam for 2K? I am not able to find it for that price anywhere.

Also, how is this model:

XIGMATEK

It’s not far from Sunbeam in performance and costs ~ 1.5k through KMD Calculator.

Guys, my budget is 1.3K.
A hundred bucks here and dere is fine but i won’t be able to go for the Sunbeam coz it would cost me 2200 and i can’t afford it.

The Xigmatek cost $23+$3(shipping)
= $26 * 46 * 1.3 ~
= Rs. 1550/+85(local shipping) ~ Rs. 1600 /- through KMD. Should i go for it?
Any other alternatives u guys can suggest in my budget would be nice.

Can some guys get a better price for the Sunbeam from Prime and send it to me. I think some guys have good bargaining skills in TE.

2K is what I picked it up at.

ocZ vandetta can be your choice for 1.3k
