Dell is taking the LCD world by storm, almost literally. Over the past year, Dell has released a barrage of LCDs, targeted at all market segments and the company has gained considerable respect in terms of features and quality. Recently, Dell was rated as the number one independent shipper of LCD panels for 2005.

Dell has now made its new 20.1-inch widescreen 2007WFP available as well as the 20.1-inch 4:3 aspect 2007FP. Both monitors are on sale and shipping. Both screens are identical in brightness and contrast ratio, offering 300 cd/m² and 800:1 respectively. The 2007WFP offers users a native resolution of 1680x1050 pixels while the 2007FP offers 1600x1200 pixels, which is slightly more screen real estate.

Interestingly enough, the widescreen version is available now for $529 while the 4:3 version is available for $588. Whether or not the additional 200K pixels are worth the $60 is something Dell seems have built into the cost.

Dell also has its 27-inch 2707WFP, which comes with a native resolution of 1920x1200 – slightly low for a screen of that size. This screen will be available in October.
