DirectX 9.0c problem

hey guys, im having this irritating DX problem, if i install dx9.0c the installer flies through the install process (presumably installing nothing) and then at dxdiag i still show dx9.0b.

confirmed this after nfs carbon demo didnt run saying it required 9.0c files. any idea whats wrong?? my windows is on a G: drive, is that the issue here? would be helpful for any pointers here, im pretty stuck out here and i really dont want to go through the pains of a full reinstall unless thats the last option..

muchas gracias, but i already have that installer, which came with the carbon demo, the oct 2006 dx9.0c, but the problem i have having is that directx isnt UPDATING from 9.0b to 9.0c .. the installer says newer version of dx installed.. but system files arent being updated.

then prolly your directx is corrupt..had the same problem… you can reinstall windows, or there are some ways to reinstall just the directx… but they’re mostly a PITA . i reisntall windows every 4 months anyway :stuck_out_tongue:
