Well my new jetway board take hell of a time in checking ide device i.e my dvd writer..around 1 minute on start up…while checking mobo manual found it mentioning that not to connect hdd and cd rom on same ide cable as it will have severe effect on performance…
now i dont have pata hdd…and also there is only 1 ide so where do i connect the dvd writer…
whereas the sata disc are detected in less than a sec…
now the option for me is to get a connecter which will convert the pata connecter from dvd writer to my mobo sata port(if it exist)…
2nd option…sell the dvd rw and get a sata sony awg 170s
ya eazy i was thinking that only would be much cheaper..but i guess selling the dvd rw and buying a sata one wont hurt on my pocket…
are the sata writers good enough???
varkey thanks for the link…but whts in picture is something like sata card…if mobo doesnt have sata board than u need that…i hava a pata dvd rom i need connecter on that side…i already have sata ports on my board
sorry now got that…any idea about availability???..and wht its called exactly???
damn it cost around 600 buks on newegg…selling my warranty less dvd writer(benq 1640) and getting a new one will only push me bak by around 1k that looks more feasible if this is that costly
