DVD-ROM Drive Recommendation

Which is the best & cheapest DVD-ROM Drive which can read at high speeds & can perform disc quality tests too.

Well, if u can push it a lil’ try getting the Lite-On 1693s DVD-RW. Its a very good reader. With all new burners out there, u should be able to get it real cheap. Its also a decent burner.

Try the new Lite-On DVD-Roms. If the 16P9S is still available, get it. Its a very decent Rom. Eazy has it. Check this link for the list of new DVD-Roms from LO : ::: LiteOn Technology Corporation :::

plan dropped as i used to think a DVD-ROM can read CD’s at 52x

i got myself a liteon1633s at 2.1k .. not much more than a dvd rom drive

leave it people I found out that my Sony DRU800A which is a Liteon OEM is a pretty decent reader too.

U wont have a problem in doing that. But have to check at CDFreaks to see if the LO f/w or the Sony f/w is better. Till then, please hold. If possible, register at CDFreaks and go thro’ the Lite-On section for useful info.
