id rather wait for a couple of weeks than spend 2k
omg.. iāve got the same PSU.. is that the reason for the max OC at 2.4ghz?
what other options i have lesser than 3.6k ?
Coolermaster is a good psu, very stable
i second artful..
iām using the same..
are there no other cheaper psus that i can buy.. say a 500W or a 550W one from a good company?
You can, but the genuineness of their ratings and quality is always gonna be a question. Consider your PSU **THE **lifeline to your PC, then consider how much money you spent on it, now is 10% or less of that amount too much to protect and safely run your PC?
BTW, Powersafe 500W Gold come at around 2.5k, are pretty decent for the price point, dunno if theyāll be able to handle your rig though.
Try getting a mora psu if uāre really short on cash. Ive got a pro 380w mora psu and it provides enough juice for my e4300 to do 3ghz.
Yes but he has a 7950GT along with his Rig, which will also need some 150W(just an estimate) of power
@terrordrone; You need something of a 500W around PSU with around 25A on +12V line, just make sure the brand is reputable.
deepak, donāt mind, let us know whats the best option! we can source cooler master, antec and corsair. Let us know whats the cheapest option among the 3 ^^
Why would I mind
Cheapest among the 3 :
The evergreen optionā¦
CM eXtreme 600W for 3.6k
Ofcourse if someone doesnāt wanna spend that much then Powersafe 500/Zebby 540 are good options, although dont know much about them so canāt comment.
if ur on a budget get a amigo 500w dual rail for 1750, its decent for its price if ur on a budget like i was, else for 2.5k get the power safe 500w
^^ I really doubt terrordrone should be running a 7950GT on a Amigo 500W, but I guess its better then the 400W Crap he currently has (no offense m8)
hahah , i dont mind that but i have tried running two 8500gt in sli mode on my asus with this psu worked alll right with 2 hdd 2 dvd roms
i have tried running two 8500gt in sli mode
How was the performance
Well somebody correct me if I am wrong but the
TDP of 8500GT is around 40W
TDP of 8600GT is 70W
TDP of 8600GTS is 110W
TDP of 7950GT is 150W
That ofcourse still means that while he will probably get the rig running (Heck the rig runs even on the 400W PSU he has) but might not be able to OC the CPU due to lack of extra juice.
@terrordrone, dont get me wrong buddy, I am not trying to coarse you into buying a CM 600, just trying to make a fact clear that while this Amigo PSU seems great and probably is, you spent a lot on your rig, and IMO it would be a wise thing to do to spend some more and have a stable OCād system at loads.
performance ⦠to me it all seemed the same . on a 15" crt i dont think i really cant see the difference in the very rare gaming i do.
iām running a leadtek 7950 gt extreme.. sob, looks like 3.6k gone..
srry for the late reply.. was playing carbon.. and then f1.. soā¦
lol deepak⦠no offence taken
not a prob dude.. comment wat u like.. afterall ure helping me and guiding me in the right direction
ill see and explore my options.. think ill have to wait for next month to arrrange cash
sorry to bring this topic back up.. we bought cm extreme 600w psu today.. n it still wonāt OC
pls tell us what volts to use for the memory, vcore etc.
P.S: Updated to the latest bios.
wats the safest - max clocks that can be reached on stock cooling?
and wat temps shud it be around.. so that i know its not over the limit
