well..
1.you could start by increasing the automatic logout time limit !
jus bout 15mins of inactivity and i’ve been signed out ??
its seriously irritating when im posting a reply..by the time im done with my post & click submit,i’ve been signed out & gotta login again..

2.No icons to indicate a ‘HOT’ thread/post ?? it would really help to make any thread standout when its buzzing with activity..

3.i think the forum would be more active with members,if you were to ‘hide’ the main forum sections from the ‘guests’ thereby making the guests become TE members (after reg.)if interested,to view content @ TE(just a suggstn!)

4.is the TE forum’s theme going to be changed any time soon?? it could do with a cool new theme..for a better visual appeal !

Duno about the other points , but i like this theme…simple , and cool…but guess its a matter of personal opinion

simple..but don’t u think it could look a bit more snazzier?! techie??

one thing is for sure..the TE logo sure doesn match the forum theme..

  1. I am not aware how much logout time admins have set. I personally browse TE from my personal pc or laptop and i have checked remember me box so i never get logged of automatically. Let some admin or moderator answer to this.

  3. This point i can comment on. Making main threads visible to everyone is very important. Its important as it gets hits to the forum through search engines. Hiding it wont do anything. You cannot force people to be active.

  4. There are 3 styles to choose from the CP > options. Some people may not like any but personally it does not bother me. Some of the best/more popular tech forums in the world are more simpler than TE ;).

Snazzy look does not matter. Its the content that matters.

Snazzy look, homepage, better looking portal will fetch more adds, revenue though :wink:

an addition to point number 1..

i also have ‘remember me’ checked.. but the problem is that… arnd 20 mins of inactivity and all my posts get marked as read.. this get irritating since i get to de comp in de morning nd click on ‘new posts’ nd every now nd then i need to leave my cubicle or do something else. nd all my ‘new posts’ get marked as read.. :frowning:

  2. bleh, look at number of replies

  3. i would never return to a forum that had its threads hidden from guests unles it was for a specific reason

well i know u can that out from the no. replies..but the ‘Hot thread’ icon is really cool…and it’s just a thought for cryin out loud..
well all of em are..
not like i wanted them enforced right away !!!

true..i felt maybe ppl visit te just to get some info & leave..least they cld do is become a member..
