Google SketchUp

Google recently bought 3D software SketchUp. SketchUp is a simple but powerful tool for quickly and easily creating, viewing and modifying your 3D ideas.

It is available as a basic free download as well a professional paid one for 495$. Currently available only for windows platform.

With just a few simple tools, you can create 3D models of houses, sheds, decks, home additions, woodworking projects - even space ships. And once you’ve built your models, you can place them in Google Earth, post them to the 3D Warehouse, or print hard copies.

Google SketchUp (Pro 5) - 495$ is a powerful 3D modeling tool whose robust feature set empowers design professionals to explore and communicate complex concepts, import and export a host of file formats, and create interactive presentations. You can also use SketchUp Pro to print to high-resolution devices, place your models in Google Earth, and post them to the 3D Warehouse.

Minimum configuration for PC:

* 600 MHz Pentium® III processor

* 128 MB RAM

* 80 MB of available hard-disk space

* Video card that is 100% OpenGL compliant

* Windows compatible pointing device

* Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher

* Windows® Media Player or QuickTime 5.0 and web browser for multimedia tutorial.
