these are my requirements

  1. as big a screen as possible

  2. 16 GB or above

  3. should display album art when playing music

  4. plain USB drag and drop. No funny interfaces

  5. mini usb connector- nothing proprietary

  6. mpeg 4 video playback support a plus

the points in bold are my requirements. Was thinking of a Zen Vision W.

what are my other options ?

If your budget permits get a 40GB\60GB Cowon QW5..i dont think anything comes close to it ..

i know its not available in India ..but you can get it via KMD ..

or else even a Cowon D2 with extra memory card or a A3 would be good for your needs..

so decide depending on ur budget..or else the ZEN vision W would be nice if u need one urgently..

i would still suggest a Cowon A3(If not QW5) since u have the budget which can accommodate a Vision W. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dunno why but i just love the Q5 for the features it offers and its screen :slight_smile:

hmm 20 gb space , you want that much . well the cowon , or the archos are the best thing.i think some one even had one archos selling out here.

the vision W is good. i have one, bit outdated tho.

Also seriously look at the cowon A3, bit more expensive i guess. Also the archos 605

heh, did some looking around ,and given my budget , narrowed it down to the Zen vision W 30GB and ( surprise) the iPod Touch 8 GB. mostly because cover art + touch screen win over the rest

any other options ?

well, i say -1 for the touch for the memory capacity for that price :stuck_out_tongue:

By the way, f ur willin to compromise on the screen size, the creative ‘zen’ is a VERY good option :slight_smile: both regarding to formats/connectors/battery life and pricing too. theres a 32Gb flash based model available 285$ :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: 16Gb is ONLY 180$.

can compromise a bit on storage, but would like as much screen area as possible. my plan is to plug one of them straight to a car amp, and eliminate the HU altogether :smiley:

u get the best of both worlds. + it has a great 800X480 screen (i think thats the correct res for once :flushed_face:)

  • for storage u can go from 4Gb (+SD Slot)/30Gb/80Gb/160Gb :stuck_out_tongue:

WARNING: I was looking at reviews and it does seem to have MORE than its fair share of horror stories too :flushed_face: Might be time to do a rethink. esp considering no warranty in India. Apple will at least replace stuff in the first yr :stuck_out_tongue: Do check it out n decide for urself tho.
