Heavy Update Collection Available for Windows Vista

Microsoft made available a heavy update collection for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista. The Redmond company has been hammering away at the operating system ever since it hit the shelves on January 30, 2007. Benefiting from the advantage of an excellent update infrastructure set in place for Vista, Microsoft is working it consistently. In this context, Vista can be considered a work in progress. Microsoft will

continually introduce new updates to the operating system designed to resolve various functionality issues.
The collection of updates, made available on June 26, represents just such an example. No less than nine separate downloads are available for Windows Vista, designed to fix a variety of problems. From Windows Media Center to Internet Explorer running on 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Vista, Microsoft offers resolves for the issues via either Windows Update or the Download Center if you prefer a more hands-on approach.
Microsoft has touted the update infrastructure of Windows Vista as a killer of the service pack update model. The Redmond company emphasized the diminished relevance of future Vista service packs due to the update mechanism associated with the operating system. However, there are users, especially in the corporate environment that are still holding out for SP1 in order to deploy Vista, and that also fail to be big fans of deploying individual updates instead of a service pack. The first beta of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is currently planed for availability before November 12, 2007. This could possibly mean that the final Vista SP1 may be pushed into 2008.
