is it possible to assigh different pointer speed to mouses connected to a single computer…?
for ex…i have a MX518 & a IBM optical mouse…(both usb) both with the plug & play (HID ) drivers…is it possible to set different mouse speeds to each mouse??:S
^^ No.. Its think possible to write a batch file though.. It was really complicated, and i always got it wrong :P.

Why dont you try this… am not sure if it will work, but give it a try.
Using the Control Panel —> Mouse settings, set the speed to whatever you want. Then see if the IBM mouse works according to that speed. Then when you want to use the MX 518, use the given buttons to increase the DPI to the max.
Then see if it is possible that the MX 518 is at a different speed than the IBM.
the IBM mouse is obviously slower than the mx518…(IBM->400dpi)
i usually set the speed for the mx518 in 6th position in the pointer speed & use it @1600DPI…mx is enough…but my brother also uses the pc somtimes…if afraid if he damages the mouse…therefore i was thinking of leaving both the mice…(he is ~10 yrs old )
What abt the use of setpoint…can i set speed for IBM mouse in windows control panel & set the speed for the mx518 in the setpoint software?
LOL how can he damage the mouse unless he bangs it on the desk or something . As far as damage is concerned, create a limited user account in XP so that he can’t fiddle around with stuff you don’t want him to fiddle with :P.

i dont know if mouse will get damaged or not…its’ jsut that i am afraid of him using my mx518…
LOL i’ve used a mouse with wet hands so many times :P. As long as he doesn’t dip the mouse in water, its fine ;).
Its better to be safe than sorry though. Keep a towel next to the mouse
installed setpoint…& chose the speed for MX518…but unfortunately it changes the speed in ctrl panel too…
