you possibly must still be infested with the virus and bots…or maybe while u were busily removing the malware and stuff u might have deleted some imp files…
Anyways I would suggest you to re install ur XP…backup C and then format C and install XP again
The virus is gone but the registry entries made by the virus is still there. Search google for Sdfix to restore your registry entries. Most probably, you can’t run regedit and cannot find folder options. In case you can find folder options, enable show hidden files and show system files. Then u’ll see the autorun.inf file on your drives. Delete them to get rid of the cannot find copy.exe error messages. Once you run sdfix, folder options will be available if it was not there.
Also, disable autorun on removable drives AND always right-click>open pen drives so u don’t get infected again as most of these viruses spread thru pen drives.
Looks like your system was pretty knocked up (if I may) by spyware and malware.
If you are comfortable with XP re-installation, I would follow cynozure007’s sound advice and backup my data and go for a complete re-install. Not only will this, get rid of any loose ends (crippling effect) left by the spyware/malware, it will also breathe fresh life into your system, making it feel zippy like when it was new
However, if you have no other option and need to fix the problem, insert your XP installation disc and select the repair option. This should fix up most of the issues you are facing.
