Help with making cds

Hey,

I searched and couldn’t find this neither did I know where to put this.

See I’m in a band and we are doing recording I’ve got all that stuff but we have all of our recordings and were ready to create a cd. Heres the problem we want a professional looking CD. But I don’t know how to make the nice CD labels, nice jewel case labels. So if someone could tell me how to make a good CD. I would like to know the programs and the hardware I would need to get and whatever else I need to know.

Thanks.

A Lightscribe enabled drive and a Lightscribe disc is what you need. The BenQ 1655 and the Lite-On 165H6S are the 2 available Lightscribe enabled drives available. There might be HP’s available too but am not sure. Not sure abt the cost of Lightscribe media too - IIRC, a Lightscribe CD-R costs Rs.30.

Does Lightscribe make color cds.

Not at the moment. It just burns the CD in mono. There are rumours that HP may introduce LightScribe that does color.

With Lightscribe would I be able to burn a CD that has like the color of a CD-R with black text.

check theese examples to get an idea

There are quite a few different alternatives. Firstly there are printers that can print to a cd paper label. Here’s a brief list then there is Screen printing as well as this one . Now AFA Lightscribe is concerned here’s slightly old literature on the same as well as a shoot-out of some of the drive comparison here . Also some templates & stuff for lightscribe.

Another alternative is LabelFlash . This is a slightly newer technology compared to Lightscribe. The media & players supporting it are still rare. Here's a good [article](http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/249) to get introduced to it & have some idea about it.

Lastly, there's Yamaha's DiscT but don't know if tht is a work in progress or stalled. Some news [here](http://www.yamahamultimedia.com/yec/tech/discta2_01.asp)
