I’ve heard that their retirement plan is great. 72 virgins , and something more
+1 Perfect example of twisting facts in his favor there by unbreakable. Dude, did u actually read anything other than the ticker title on bbc? The mail was sent from mumbai, so howz phone networks in delhi connected to it? + i believe landlines werent blocked, just congested. Mobile networks were. I was sittin in Green Park market that time
Where do you connect your modem/router? (apart from your PC)
The multi-quote option wasn’t working properly for me, must be chrome, should work fine now, happy now?
I am assuming your speaking for yourself…right? I doubt that looks like results of the nationwide survey.
Of course its my opinion, which I believe many people here will share. Yes it is a generalisation, but its true. Open your eyes. Most people are followers of other people or just repeat things which they see on TV or have heard from people. I strongly believe that most people do not understand their own faith which the claim they belong to.
Do me a favour, find me a scriptural reference from any of the Vedas, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Vedanta, etc. which support, encourage idol worshipping.
What is there to explain to be a good citizen? Many people cant even stop spitting on the road!!
Exactly. Thats my point.
I say we think about the country as the first priority. Civic duty and responsibility is what people needs to be good at. Remember some women got their throat cut off by a deranged person in gateway of India some years ago?? How many people did actually help them-one? People were just looking as if some movie was going on.
Because we live in a “whats in it for me” or “me me me” society at large and most people don’t want to involve themselves in situations like Murder, homicide..etc. To top it off, its India, who knows what the Police will do.
Yeah that’s a different story. Then again there are people who dont vote and don’t do much good themselves- yet they complain about the government
Right, you actually believe that “voting” helps. So what have you achieved by voting?
So you actually believe that India is a DemocraZy. hmmm good luck
India is becoming more and more like the West (UK/US). There is no opposition parties. It always has and always will be a one party system. Yes, you need to change the government from time to time, make the people think they have a “VOTE”.
well anyway, happy voting
You might be right there. I just read all the news on my ticker.
do I need to watch the actual news on TV?
Damn, I should try that next time. Damn, I need to get a TV now.
Thanks “TECHIE_007”, you’re a star
What is it you are trying to say here :S
Curious as to where, geographically you are from ?
I am from Delhi, Panjab, London and NYC. I will be in Delhi in around two days until Feb09. Why?
I am saying nothing - answer to your first question.
To me, being able to vote, is a choice, something, that isn’t always available to most of our neighbours.
Don’t discount the power of that choice, it acts as a safety valve when things get heated up
Your earlier post gave me the impression you were form a place where this choice is absent.
errr…while we ARE deconstructing your silly claims, heres a completely tech point you MISSED:
my point was,
-
telephone lines nowadays arent the only way to get a net connection, you ARE aware of that, arent you?
-
- Like I said, Landlines WERE working, so even those connections were up. No-ones internet was down, other than maybe someone using GPRS, OOPS, I WAS using GPRS, AND that was up TOO
. Which is how i found out about the blasts actually. Networks were up till bout 20-30 min after the blasts when they were shut down, n then too only calls/sms part, like I said, GPRS in delhi was up
- Like I said, Landlines WERE working, so even those connections were up. No-ones internet was down, other than maybe someone using GPRS, OOPS, I WAS using GPRS, AND that was up TOO
-
The email arrived 5 min after the blasts max, and network was shutdown after like 20 min, so again internet was up
Couple of holes in that internet/email theory there, wouldn’t you say?
Like I said, tickers are all very good, but read the complete article too, and by that I mean the one the day after, when all the facts are clear, not the silly breaking news stories on those silly channels of course.
Oh, an I havent owned a TV since 6 years. I use the net for all my news access too. BBC FTW
Wheres the popcorn, I wanna c a reply.
EDIT: And ah yes, all those news channels obviously working on the govts bidding with the claims on the emails and all of course Its a giant conspiracy with everyone in India involved, from the Media to the Govt of course. I trust you have your Tin foil hat on and are reading this securely through some nice untracable net connection? (or god forbid, the only means of internet communication, a telephone…modem… :O)
I use the net for all my news access too. BBC FTW
Shift to the nytimes its waaaay better.
..and on the subject of getting news off the web, forums help a great deal to see diff viewpoints.
lol. I like that.
errr…while we ARE deconstructing your silly claims, heres a completely tech point you MISSED
damn man, you are a clever bunny aren’t you.

I can only tell you what I saw on the News (yes I do have a TV).
The only time I’ve got cut off the phone to India was when I had no credit in my account. When calling customer servive of the phone company I use, I was told that there has been a incident in delhi and all of their customer who were calling that region was kicked off.
BT whom I have my landline with, said the same when I tried calling Delhi directly.
I should have recorded the news, maybe somebody has. Star News mentioned that communications networks had been shutdown due to security. unless they are telling porkies. Or we are dealing with deadly hi-tech terrorists. Maybe they have the new iPhone 3G. hmmmm.
Damn man, you were using GPRS. thats clever, your ahead of the game bro. GPRS. here have some popcorn :food1:
EDIT: And ah yes, all those news channels obviously working on the govts bidding with the claims on the emails and all of course

Who said it was a conspiracy? The terrorists are to blame for those bombings, we all know that. We got it in a EMAIL Just like they were to blame for 7/7, just like they were to blame for 911 (passport of terrorist found in rubble) and the London bombings. (another terrorist passport found)
Come on techi_007 we all know that tin foil hats don’t work anymore.
well… ?
pardon? well what?
Nice of you. SO you just missed every point I made and blamed it all on the TV news channels now.
FYI..the channels prob got it wrong
I was using landlines IN Delhi (had to call up the folks before they got too worried :P). And they were working.
Like I said, you shouldnt read too much into the immediate news.
Also:
Damn man, you were using GPRS. thats clever, your ahead of the game bro. GPRS. here have some popcorn
How is that comment relevant to the discussion? I just made a valid point saying that net access through GPRS was still up in delhi even at blasts time and after too. What does me being clever or not have to do with that fact?
Your original post:
As soon as the bomb blasts happened, all communications to Delhi and Panjab were severed, so that nobody can communicate with each other. Which means no cell phones, landline phones will work (including internet, i.e. telephone line..modem.). Which is understandable.
OK, so I am watching the over inflated rubbish news reporting of NDTV and Star News, they claim…now guess what…
The Indian Mujahideen had emailed them to tell them that they done it?
Ok, no telephone lines, and they have access to the net?
You said that since all landlines/mobiles were down, how could news channels have access to the net to receive their email and make their ‘false’ claims.
I just told you that net access was still there. So that theory of yours is False.
Now what part of that do you want to argue with?
Thats exactly my point, which I admit I might not have made clear in the beginning. Unlike yourself, I wasn’t there.
Regardless of what happened with the communications or how many bombs went off.
In my opinion I don’t believe that the IM carried this out on their own, just like the recent pakistan hotel bomb. It just seem to fishy. But of course, people will no doubt disagree thats their right and I respect that. (why shouldn’t I?, The world doesn’t rotate around me. )
I just feel for those who have lost their loved ones. Just brings back bad memories.
When was this a arguement techie_007? All I am doing is airing my view, you might not agree with them, but they are my views.
But I tell you what in around 10 hours I shall be there (Delhi), so maybe we have your arguement?
Want some more popcorn? :food1:
Well I’m off…
Thats exactly my point, which I admit I might not have made clear in the beginning. Unlike yourself, I wasn’t there.

Thank you
Regardless of how silly your views are, you are entitled to them. One of the points of living in a errr…democracy, though you might disagree with me on that
