Ok, So as me and even my cousin were interested in iPod touch, we were hunting for best possible deals in our spare time over last 2 weeks.
Both of us were not desperate to buy it and hence over last 2 weeks, me and my cousin visited shops from alfa to indraprasth to anupam. And got these deals.
I dont know if its available at this price or lower in other cities or somewhere else in Mumbai, but we managed to get sub 15k deals on this from 2 shops.
1 from indraprasth 1st floor near stairs ( forgot the name of the shop ). And 2nd from a Raghuleela mall kandivali ( forgot name of this shop as well, the shop on ground floor next to Nokia dealer shop ).
8GB Touch Brand new: 12750
8GB Touch 2nd Hand, good scratchless front, minor microscratch on back : Rs. 9750
16GB Touch 2nd hand ( I couldnt tell if this one was new or old but he said its 2nd hand ) :Rs.12500. The only thing missing was original earbuds from this and he was bundling cheapo earbuds.
16GB Touch New : Rs.15250.
Now I was really surprised by the cost of 16GB model. I was under impression this would cost something like 18k+ even in grey market looking at $360+ prices on various online shops in US.
Anyone in Mumbai able to find better pricing?
If not, i will mostly pull shotgun this weekend.
I am tempted more because of the things like Dynolicious and on the move video watching
Whatever else you do, please please hold on till Sept 10th Apple is going to refresh the line up. Now as usual, no one knows what exactly, but price drops are ALWAYS a possibility. So I would suggest to EVERYONE to hold on till Apple lets us know what they have for everyone
where on earth are u getting 16gb for 15k i am tempted as well. screw the iphone as well cant be bothered. im thinking the same thing. can we install all the games and apps on the itouch as well right ? what do u do for that jailbreak or what exactly ?
Yes, I would wait for the announcement as well. They are going to announce a refresh this week. You’ve waited this long, another week or two wont hurt.

Yes you can install most of the apps that work on the iPhone. For jailbreaking you need a program called WinPwn which will flash your firmware and will add a installer, from where you can download programs over wi-fi
Also i got my iPod Touch 16GB for around 16.5k from indiaplaza around 2 months ago so you can check if they have it at a lower price now.
