Is it possible?

I download at 30kbps and limit my upload to 20kbps. I was wondering if I could use my upload bandwidth for downloading. If yes how?

Huh?

LOL thats not possible.

I wish…

Flip your modem upside down.
Up will become down and down will become up

Heh heh you can humour me I don’t mind, my question was stupid. Got a bit greedy wanted to download as much and as fast as I can.

Nonethless, I previously was blacklisted once about a year back. This happened to me between Oct & Nov 2006. Back then I used to pay RS.280/- Unlimited data transfer @ 40 kbps. I used to get abt 4-5 kbps as my dl rate kept ul speed at 1kbps. I then installed Ares in the time slot I mentioned and my dl speed shot beyond 90 kbps I could even ul at arnd 60 kbps w/o affecting my ul rate. 2 weeks later I got blacklisted and my speed was limited to 2 kbps for a month. Result, I switched to sify in Jan 07. BTW Sify service in my area is lame so I switched to a different service provider in June 07.

My question here is, how did ares manage that and no other s/w on my machine back then (Limewire pro and mu-torrent 1.6) could do that?

Ares is a p2p software like others(Limewire,Emule etc.). maybe you got lucky with Ares

man.. no matter how greedy u r.. convertin upload speed to dload speed.. cmon..

Yup and while my luck lasted I downloaded like hell. Started taking lists from friends for stuff they wanted after my list got over. Too bad I got blacklisted.
