flatpanels.dk is your friend
Samsung 244T (widescreen) has a 24 inch 6 ms (g2g) S-PVA (Samsung LTM240M2) panel.
You can check on flatpanels.dk/panels.php
Mostly I’ve seen that if the monitor has a S-IPS panel, it’ll be mentioned boldy in the specs
it’s the same panel 2407 uses… sam LTM240L2
Hey Vandy, Any idea what the quote for this one looks like?
The website in entirely in danish…oops
c’zar will post prices on this one soon…

[edit] IPS
IPS (In-Plane Switching) was developed by Hitachi in 1996 to improve on the poor viewing angles and color reproduction of TN panels. Most also support true 8-bit color. These improvements came at a loss of response time, which was initially on the order of 50ms. IPS panels were also extremely expensive.
IPS has since been superseded by S-IPS (Super-IPS, LG.Philips LCD), which has all the benefits of IPS technology with the addition of improved pixel refresh timing. Though color reproduction approaches that of CRTs, the contrast ratio remains relatively weak. S-IPS technology only appears in larger displays aimed at professionals, though pricing has come down to the reach of the typical consumer.
AS-IPS - Advanced Super IPS, also developed by the LG.Philips LCD joint venture, improves substantially on the contrast ratio of traditional S-IPS panels to the point where they are second only to some S-PVAs.
A-TW-IPS - Advanced True White IPS, developed by LG.Philips LCD for NEC, is a custom S-IPS panel with a TW (True White) color filter to make white look more natural and to increase color gamut. This is used in professional/photography LCDs
PVA
PVA (Patterned Vertical Alignment) and S-PVA (Super Patterned Vertical Alignment) are more advanced versions of MVA technology offered by Samsung. Developed independently, it suffers from the same problems as MVA, but boasts very high contrast ratios such as 3000:1. Value-oriented PVA panels also use dithering/FRC. S-PVA panels all use true 8-bit color electronics and do not use any color simulation methods.
Between the two which do you think(or is ) is better?
By the way samsung is an S-PVA monitor
S-PVA-- These panels are a compromise between the fast pixel response times of the TN panel and the excellent color reproduction of the IPS panels. Contrast and blacks are best of all the panel types. Viewing angles are almost similar but slightly inferior to IPS. These details will only matter if you look for them, for average users like myself these are the best IMO.
^^On an average modern S-IPS panels are faster than S-PVA. The contrast ratios and depth of blacks rock on S-PVA/P-MVA but color reproduction doesn’t come anywhere close to S-IPS even though its an 8bit panel. S-IPS vs anything else will make the anything else appear washed out ;). If you don’t believe me try searching for 2005 vs 2405 side by side comparisons.
There’s quite a few reviews of this monitor and most of it’s good… What do you think of this panel for home and gaming use? I’d just like the extra desktop space that this one brings..
That brings us to the moot point… 3007WFP is down to 1200$ of late. If you can snag one of those, its a big screen and S-IPS :D.
^^ But 244T is around $800 on egg 400 buckaroos isn’t exactly loose change
6 extra inches and 2560x1600 isn’t a small difference either
6 extra inches would make a big difference always
^^Exactly… for the price it is available at currently, its a steal :P. I hope it drops further by feb-march ;). I can snag one for myself then :D.
This looks sweeeeeetttttttt

Chaos the problem is none of the cards would hold up to that kind of resolutions. My only option would be to get another 1900xt or 7900GTX for a multi GPU thingy, that too after dx10 is out, cause I cannot afford another card now…
Holy Fuc*… Look at zhop’s post… I want that!!!

Back2 topic, any update on the quote?
WIth The Benq 24 priced over 40K, and the Dell @ 40, I hope and wish Samsung comes up with a killer deal
