please suggest me a good laser printer priced 5000-6000. I came across these 2 models- HP-1020 and SAMSUNG-1610. Please review and and suggest. Also take factors into accounts like cost per page, cartridge price and if the cartridge toner is easily refillable.
I have the Samsung 1610… AVOID this one. Not very good. I got it free with my 740N LCD panel. If I dont use the printer for about 2 - 3 weeks then it does not print till I remove the Toner cartridge and shake the toner :@
FYI - I understand some models of Xerox Lasers are made by Samsung.
is this problem with samsung only or hp also?
Before the Samsung I used an HP 6L which did not have this problem. But the 6L has paper feed from the top and that was very bad it would either not feed a page or it woud feed many pages at the same time - the 6L used to print about one in four pages at an angle :@ Dont buy any top paper feeding Laser printers which have the paper stored in the upright position - I understand all these type of printers give trouble.
I print very very seldom and my last toner in the HP 6L was about 8 - 10 years old and it was still going strong when I dropped the front cover of the printer from a height and it smashed into small pieces… still have this priner and it still works … but no front cover 
A while back I remember reading that HP Laser engines were made by Canon … dunno if they still are.

and you guys still talking abt black and white printers right? which is the cheapest colour laser printer?
YUP those are B/W lasers … The question you should ask is " which colour laser printer has the CHEAPEST toner cartridges " … I understand that colour laser printers toners are KILLERS in price … they will proabably give you a printer at a throw away price and charge you obscene prices for the toners 
EDIT: I heard that most Laser Printers are supplied with small amounts of toner powder in their cartridges which is about 30% compared to an off the self toner cartridge … is this right ?

So, how is HP-1020 and what is the cost of toner? Can it be refilled?
