A friend is coming over from US-the Logitech Z-5450 are wireless 5.1 spkrs for 250$. Are they good buy? i hav a Sblive! 24-bit soundcard-is it gud enuff for these speakers?

yes u can use them as standalone speakers with ur dvd player.
yes u will get the transformer here. get the 1 with 500w continous power which is what i use with my z680. it is big in size but u need a good 1. will cost around 1000-1300rs.
dont know if this is a good buy. how are the sats powered? battery? cause if its battery powered or something & if u wallmount them might be a problem to change battery or something.

cauz on the link that uve given it says 499 $..they look like a good decent set of speakers..IMO go for it..if they are for 250 $

^^ u saying that each sat have power cables so each of them have to be attached to a power source? how would u wallmount it then.
yes u can attach these to ur sblive.
in international flights 30kgs per bag is allowed & u are allowed to carry 2 bags 30kg max each & a handbag in the plane which has to be light. (this is usally the case in many flights but it can be possible that some airline have diff regulations). i too had got my z680’s from usa over 2 years back. the packaging was much bigger than this & also heavier. was around 24-26kgs. i checked it in along with another bag. dint have any problems as the logitech packaging was really great. was asked by custom officers here what it was etc & told them that they were speakers & told them the price. they scanned it & told me to go. dint have any problems as it was under 25k.
do you absolutely need wireless?
otherwise, youre better off spending that cash on some better sounding gear

I think the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1’s are a better deal. Not really sure but i remember reading about them some time back. Shd be around 200-250$. Wait for chaos to reply tho
if the klipsch are down to 250$ then get that with your eyes closed. unless if u want a decoder then go for the z5500 & if u really want a cordless then get the z5450.

Bestbuy/Compusa will have all sorts of logitech/creative/altec/klipsch computer speakers. However be prepared to shell out an extra 33-50%.
