Mobo with E8400

yea i will get this soon !! which chipset do you guys suggest ? x38,750i ? or the upcoming x48 ??

i cam across 3 mobos.

Newegg.com - ABIT IX38 Quad GT LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Newegg.com - ASUS P5N-D LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Amazon.com: Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 - Motherboard - ATX - iX38 - LGA775 Socket - IDE, Serial ATA-300 (RAID) - 2 x Gigabit Ethernet - FireWire - HD Audio (8-channel): Electronics

Which is better ?

Of the three Nvidia’s chipset is weakest so need to consider that unless you are planning SLI.

Gigabyte one seems best of the lot. Here is a review Legit Reviews - Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 Motherboard Review - Final Thoughts And Conclusion

But still nothing beats Abit IP35-Pro at its price. Why not go for it? If you are not opting for either Crossfire and DDR3 or both there is very little reason to move to X38 chip. A solid P35 mobo is better than an average X38 mobo

Most good p-35 mobos support 1333 MHz FSB (read Penryn)

X38 and X48 are still in infancy and they need little maturing. If you are buying right away IMO get a P35 mobo. After two months or so situation might be different

^so after two months, which mobo would u suggest me ?

gigabyte mobo’s are crazy overclockers and a favourite in the US…dont know why they are so expensive in india coz a p35-ds3 costs 100$ or less in the US and around 9k here.

if u wanna go for it, check out any forum with members from abroad(mainly US)…

they all recommend gigabyte

their p35 comes in 2 versions… p35 DS3 and p35 DQ6

^^the first one can do 500+ fsb and thats the value edition…the DQ6 is the premium addition so it would be even better.

since the x38 was released quite recently, they wont have mature BIOS and hence could be buggy… you can instead opt for a p35 coz it would have all the problems ironed-out(READ STABLE  )

so Gigabyte P35-DQ6 or ip35 pro ?

two months is lots of time in Computer industry. Between Gigabyte P35-DQ6 or ip35 pro, abit one is better

i dont think ne1 here has had experience with the gigabyte board…coz its expensive in india…

they can only comment about the ip-35pro
