My cell phone is under warranty model no L6i.I had some issue with that mobile like sometime it used to switch on n off automatically moving to any menus automatically.hell lot of problem so 15 days back i sended my mobile to service center here in Vashi (vardha electronics)they first were not ready to accept cell phone telling that I dont have the bill.
I lost the bill but still on warranty is there on seeing the S/N no .last time also my cell went for service center for replacement that time too i didnt had bill still they accepted and they changed the board(the PROBLEM LAST TIME WAS THE SAME).now they started giving excuses telling that its bcos of moisture .I mean how could it catch moisture.non sense still i accepted it and was ready to pay as need the phone always .It caused me loss of rs1700 bucks as i got temporary new cell phone for temporary use .they didnt bother to call me when today i went there they simply handed over my phone telling nothing cant be done.
I was pissed when the guy told nothing cant be done and in price of new board u can get new cellphone . :@ Why arent they giving me new Board when my cell is underwarranty .
WHY THEY DIDNT BOTHER TO MATCH THE SERIAL NO WHEN MY CELL PHONE WAS IN WARRANTY WHEN I WEN THIS TIME.WHY THEY GAVE ME CHALAN !!its complete case of Fraud with CONSUMER and they should be Punished.

Exactly same thing happened with me. Though my cell landed in water, i dried it for almost one week. But they still managed to find trails of water. They told me that excessive moisture has found its way inside and there is nothing they can do about it. Since it was my fault, i didnt pester them much. The thing is, they would consider even moisture as water filled phone. They wont tell you directly though.
:console: cant seem to open if from office, will see the link once i am home.

what SO EVER NEVER BUY MOTOROLA CELLPHONES
fungus? iirc motorola aint using “Organic” LED yet.
The same happened when I dropped my Nokia 6210 Navigator in a bucket full of water…
I dried it for a day and noticed that the phone was getting switched off every now and then…
I dried it for 2 more days and after that the phone was lot less buggy(just the number 0 kept getting pressed now and then)… After that I reinstalled software and now its working fine
[ot]:S how did u manage to get it in the bucket of water [/ot]
Well… I did manage
First time I saw the thread name, I thought this guy got raped, or dumped by boyfriend/girlfriend.
Kindly use better thread name that actually is meaningful.
While visiting Samsung Service Nagpur i saw a guy literally throwing his mobile on the floor breaking it into pieces…
He was told to come back again and again with the same problem for 2 months…
He was so frustrated that he did not want the mobile anymore… Sorry state of consumers in India
^^
Customer service sucks for most brands in india
I recall an incident many yrs ago when an acquaintance dropped it into the toilet, fished it out and what happens next…
..stuck it in the microwave, to dry it(!)
If you want to get technical I believe most mobile manufacturers have a specific strip or something inside the back of the phone somewhere which changes color once exposed to water letting them know its suffered water damage.
On the warranty front, I agree. So long as the phone is under warranty, they are bound to replace the board no matter what the cost to them.
I had an SE k850i phone returned saying the board was damaged and the cost of a replacement board would be almost equal to the cost of a new one but it was a grey market piece so they were not bound to repair it anyway
I have had the board of a friends SE cell replaced once, they did it without much of a hassle since it was under warranty.
^^dude i know it changes to some pink colour .however there is no such indication in my cellphone .I checked it twice may be I will post the Pics
