The options I have in Bangalore are Samsung, LG, Sony, BenQ, Viewsonic, Acer.

Id suggest you go for the Viewsonic… Um, i 4got the Model no.
Its pretty Cheap and really good for gaming.
Buy the Viewsonic VP930b 19 inch 8 ms HDTV Ready LCD Monitor for Rs. 30000.
It is the best 19" LCD.

I’d rather recommend the Viewsonic VX924, with 3ms response time..
@Rio: Do you have a budget ? Else people may give you over the top suggestions like above ! 
You need a good contrast ratio too.
VX924 = 550:1
VP930b = 1000:1
8ms response time is also enough.
Only brightness & speed does not decide quality.
If contrast ratio is not good the blacks will look like grays.
VX is totally useless for any sort of graphic design as it uses a TN panel. The VP930b is currently the king of quality 19" LCDs if you can afford it.
^^ Btw, 8ms response, is colour to colour.
The 3ms response is just grey-to-grey. Which is useless.
Id suggest go for the VP930b..
Its the best in the business…
My budget is about 25k - would the VP930b fit, I don’t think so.

BTW if you are already used to an LCD, going back to a CRT is really difficult. I can’t sit in front of a CRT anymore. Gives me massive headaches.
CRT’s give you a headache after sitting in front of your PC for long.
I Sit in from of my LCD almost the full day. And i dont get a headache.
Plus LCD’s take up much much much, lesser room. So thats a added bonus.
A 19" CRT will take up about 5 19" LCD space.
Nope…didn’t notice this…have a 19" LCD in my office 12801024 @ 75hz, and use a 17" AC715 @ my room (1024768@85Hz), even @ home SS997DF 1024*768@100Hz no migration probs…
I have permanent eyestrain accd to my doc…for which I use 2 diffi eye drops every night. But
1 VERY FUNNY THING…I GAME 2-3 HRS DAILY (AFTER OFFICE) @ HOME 4-5 HRS, SUNDAYS 6-7 HRS MOSTLY…OFFICE 8~10 HRS…ALL IN FRONT OF A COMP… NO EYE PROBS…
GO BACK HOME FOR HOLS…NO COMPS FOR MAYBE 3 WEEKS…EYES START ITCHING…WITHDRAWL SYMPTOMS

i dont know what u guys are talking about. u prolly use your crts at 60hz so you are getting the headache’s etc.
for me i get a headache on most of the lcds cause usually most of the lcds are crap unless its a good high end 1.
It definitely varies by person I feel… at home I run 1280x1024 @ 60hz (CRT), notebook runs 1280x800 @ 60hz, at office 1280x1024 @ 75hz (TFT). I spend 12 - 16 hours a day in front of one or all of these computers and no problem with my eyes, touch wood though
Edit: but I had to start wearing glasses from last year LOL.. small price to pay though, my eyesight’s not all that bad
