hey guys… my present PC is startin to show its age now… but im still able to play all games.. i could probably get a bit more out of it if i overclock and stuff but i dont like doing that.. so im gonna get a new PC.. here is my config.. wat do u think??
ASUS P5N32-E SLI
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Corsair XMS 22GB
Coolermaster iGreen 600W PSU
2BIG 8800GT in SLI
250GB Seagate Baraccuda SATA
i think this is quiet good… I don’t mind going for a quad core but they are slightly expensive right now and i wanna spend more on my graphics cards.. E6750 is still a great processor with 1333Mhz FSB
nice setup 8800GT in SLi only keep it in mind dere r most of the games still doesn’t have driver support for 8800GT in sli… but i am sure will b shortly … plz give price breakup so that other members can quickly get a picture if dey wanna buy it coz most of the people currently looking for such a high-end gaming configuration as urs at a decent price… keep it up buddy n njoy gaming… also dont 4get to see us some benchies of 8800GT in sli in reality… u can give some review on that also…
wat u choose is good. but consider these points before making a purchase…
680i Chips (generally) have a bad reputation if u plan to overclock at all, many people here have reported so, FSB holes, VDrops, Ram Linking Problems,CAS Latency problems are some of the few to name. Its outdated and outphased.
No matter what is said, Crossfire Scales VERY well than Sli does, its IQ is unsurpassed even today, and the Price to Features and Price to Performance ratio is very good than nvidias,
Since its on 55nm Chips the Power consumption and Heat Generation is very minimal than Sli.
5.if still Sli is your cup of tea, then choose a brand like Evga not BIG.
Go for a better PSU, cuz 600watts will be right on the fringe so atleast get a 750Watter for a Sli/CF setup.
And if u want a future proof rig u better go through different threads before coming to an conclusion.
ASUS P5N32-E SLI- ~12300Rs
intel E6750 - ~7900Rs
28800GT - ~14000Rs each
Corsair XMS2 22GB ??? does anyone know the price for this??? not able to find out
Coolermaster igreen 600W PSu ~7100Rs
250GB Seagate Baraccuda SATA ~ 2800
well next year with new Intel releases and Nvidia 9 series.. these prices should go down.. no use getting those new products quiet franklysince they will be expensive and maybe offer not all that noticeably performance maybe the Nvidia 9 series GFX but im not gonna cough up 40000+ jus for GFX.. keep in mind 8800GT is DX 10.1 shader model 4.1 pci-e 2.0 and 65nm fabrication.. so it has all new features.. and in SLI it should be great… i was planning on getting only 1 8800GT but with games like crysis well… who knows wat they release next.. and keep in mind current DX10 graphics card have a really tiugh time rendering DX10 games…
ya i agree with everything you say… i think 600W should be enough… 8800GT consumes 105W @ max… and im not gonna overclock any of things.. i don’t like it.. i wanted crossfire initially but can u tell me some good crossfire MB from ASUS ONLY and how about 3870 for a graphics card?
See on a Dual card setup u really wont see any Performance diff between them, Get any X38 Mobo from Asus Would do great. even if u plan not to overclock get a better PSU, dont compromise on that.
hmmm i was considering crossfire but when i saw the reviews its jus not worth it… i mean a single 8800GTS can beat 3850 in crossfire…so its a waste really going for crossfire… sticking to SLI
see truly speaking get a single 8800gts card , get the quad core on a P35 based mobo like the abit , msi , asus and enjoy. read reviews very few games make sense on sli .
880gts - 20 k
4 gb ram - 5 k
quad core - 10 k
mobo - 10 k
psu - 5 pick up the cm ,corsair , antec , seventeam all are nice brands
Hmmm… IMO yu should go for following
Q 6600 @ Rs 11K
Abit IP35-Pro @ 9.5K or if it’s too expensive then Abit IP35-E @ 6.2K
ONE 8800GTS 512mb @ 20K (SLI is worth only if you have 30" monitor and are wiling to pay high premium even for a couple of more FPS)
Corsair XMS 2X1GB each is quite expensive. They will cost you around 16K. Better get GSkill 800Mhz Ram
for PSU get Corsair HX620W for around 7K instead of CM one. Nothing beats Corsair in this category.
Rest of the config as you wish.
Have fun building your PC
well actually SLI is not worth it like you said… makes NO diff at low res.. and im only gonna play at 1280*1024 so i will ditch the SLi idea…
i dont like abit MB so im going for ASUS P5KC which has DDR3 support as well as DDR2 support and only for 9000Rs its great… I can’t believe corsair XMS is so expensive here i have it on my current system and its great anyway i’ll see.. i have to get corsair how about Sparkle calibre 8800GTS for the card??
