New Ipods Unleashed!

ok ladies.., ive been waiting all day to catch some live blogging from san fransisco. so heres what apple has in store for us:

Ipod Classic: 80 gigger updated to 120gb.. same price - 250$.. 160 gigger discontinued.

Ipod Nano: 8gb @ 149$.. 16gb @ 199$.. new look.. somewhat like the older gen nanos.. extremely thin.. accelerometer..battery life > video - 4 hr.. music - 24 hr..

Ipod Touch: thinner, built in speaker, multitouch screen, built in nike+ app.. nice upgrade overall.. 8bg @ 229$, 16gb @ 299$ and 32gb @ 399$ (this is what im eyeing.. half the price of the 8gb indian iphone and 4 times the capacity)..

i know ive missed out a lot.. basically summarizing everything before i goto sleep. new apple earbuds at 79$ and itunes 8 introduced along with firmware 2.1 for the iphone. el jobso also kept bringing up a new “genius” feature which im too tired to elaborate on.

please excuse the horrible formatting..

gnite.

ohh. and hd video downloads @ 2.99$ apart from the normal sd downloads @ 1.99$ for tv shows.. not tht i care.. (i love my torrent downloads.. lol)

Yeah..just finished going through all of it at Gizmodo Liveblog. These guys gave an awesome coverage of the event.

The best thing about the event i feel is the new iTunes 8 software and pimped up iPod Touch with external speaker and volume control.

forgot to mention tht there r 9 colours for the nano n the apple website has also been updated..

Apple

Good news, i wont waste time downloading itunes 7.7.1 48mb, will wait for itunes 8 to appear on Mac Software Update hahah

iPod nano 4G hands-on - Engadget

Gizmodo liveblog rocks… those buggers have some zest for hilarious blogging!!

Btw guys, iTunes 8 is available now.

The firmware upgrade would be available only from friday.

i liked the old nanos better

Apart from the ipod touch 2G all other models are basically the same as the old ones.Only cosmetic changes have been made.

Anyway any idea when we can have them here??

@smoky: I beg to differ, the Genius thing look better, also the screen is better than before and we can’t call that a cosmetic improvement, and do not forget the jacked up memory across the nano lineup.

16GB model of touch now seems very illusive.that $90 odd drop from the older version

i feel for the people who bough the old model just few days back. Phew, I am glad I decided to hold on for a few more days :stuck_out_tongue:

Told ya

Apart from the ipod touch 2G all other models are basically the same as the old ones.Only cosmetic changes have been made.

Apart from the cosmetic changes like new design and bigger screen(which make it the thinnest iPod ever), the new Nano comes with some amazing new features.

New UI(resembles the UI of iPhone and iPod touch)

Accelerometer

Voice Recording feature

Genius Integration

Storage size

These new nanos are using arsenic-free glass, BFR-free, mercury free, PVC-free and highly recyclable. Jobs said “it’s the “cleanest” most “toxic free” iPods they’ve ever made.”

Hope the existing models soon be available at “old stock” (cheaper) prices.

links to images would be appreciated :stuck_out_tongue:

Go to gizmodo for Ipod Nano review or apple.com for pics

The could’ve announced the god-damned new Macbooks you know :@

^^ i called my grey mkt dealer and went to a proper dealer too.. both refused to sell it cheaper. i guess they can find plenty of ppl to con.. i remember whn the 80gb classic came out, they were still selling the 30gb one at the old price.. not to forget, when the new models come out, the grey markket prices are quite high. u cant compare them to the dollar rate for a few months atleast. that gives them time to clear the old gen backlog.

thnx for posting !!!
time to consider changing my old 1gb ‘1st gen’ nano..
