I’m sure MOTM and ROTM are growing increasingly difficult to choose so here’s a really exciting idea because I can guarantee you will never run out of people to award each month.
First, we definitely need a SOTM - Spammer of the Month: Now, there’s a spammer in all of us but some people stand out like a sore thumb and this is the group we should address. It is only right that their achievements are acknowledged and recognized, so they can flaunt it.
Second, and a less serious one, is JOTM - Joker of the Month: I got this idea as recent as last night when I was Strongbowed. If you think this title was inspired by just one person, it’s pure coincidence, don’t go there. I think it’s a fun title to have, and this group of people should be proud of themselves too.
To make it easier and less time-consuming for mods, may I suggest we have everyone vote on this each month. And please give them some cool-looking neon tags (green and pink) so we never miss their posts.
Few suggestions regarding OTM titles.. Giving OTM titles every month will over populate OTM members as the tags remains there. … and the number of members for nominees get reduced.. Thus reducing the competition sense in people…
I think the tag should only remain there for the particular month.. This not only allow Staff to choose members but also differentiate OTM with others// and if some of you thinks that you have also won the title so you need your name to be published then Hall Of Fame page is for you Indian Technology and Computer Discussion Portal - Hall of Fame - TechEnclave
Well although I’ve been rallying very hard for a JOTM, its just not happening. If you still want one, I’ll talk to the admins once more
As for the spam, that is being taken seriously now.. if its not in general talk, it will be deleted. If you want to help, report posts that are spam. We wanted to give a bit of leeway, but its obvious that members themselves are finding the freedom un-needed so we’ll do the needful.

The system currently in place doesn’t offer us the flexibility of removing *OTM tags as we please. We need to re-think the system and then do a suitable re-code, unfortunately neither of us have got down to working on either.. so as of now it stays as is till further notice

What about “reviewer of the month”? Someone who’s reviews are really helpful, or very, very good graded on quality, information, language etc. This could also be useful for someone looking to make a career writing or reviewing.
MOTM and ROTM are good things to continue.
How about “overclocker of the month”? Use WPrime or super pi scores to judge this. Something on those lines.
Also would it be possible to increase the number of photos allowed in the rig gallery? Is this OT here? But if the number were 25 or 30, I’d be happy
reviewer of the month probably you can look at the toscars count in the postbit information since the good ones get added to portal and your count increases by 1
I have a suggestion regarding the OTM tags. Instead of the tags, how about some sort of cup like icon next to the name? The number of OTMs onegets, the corresponding number of cups he gets. (Cups=Trophies)
About the OTM award logos, how about mentioning the month in which the award was given. For example, mine reads ROTM, it would then read ROTM July 2008 or something like that. Maybe the font for the month could be much smaller.

Modifying the *OTM tag graphic to mention all those details would be a bit cumbersome (for the eyes too) considering how small the tags already are. Maybe in future we will look at increasing the tag size or adding the text below it or something.
Yeah that was considered IIRC.. FE has a similar system. That way there’d be the option to nominate a member for an *OTM again
