Its here finally, the much awaited Pro Street Demo. Could only find one link, will post more if i find em, everyone pitch in with mirrors. I’ll be the last one to get it, considering am on gprs
All those with insane down speeds, pls post some screenies.
EA did have some plans to provide Indian mirrors (by teaming up with ISPs and V-Street) but that was only when their game servers hitted off. at the moment, there’s one EA Games server ran by Vstreet, it’s for Battlefield 2 (non ranked) whenever it gets ranked, depending on the response it gets, they may setup some local mirrors here. it would be foolish to get your hopes high though. first let the ISPs provide decent uncapped connections; then we’ll think about mirrors
Mini-Review: NFS: PS gives out a false hope of being different and fresh, that hope is quickly slaughtered when you finally play the game. there’s only 1 map present (hence the “small” 795MB size) you can only drive one car and there aren’t any others to choose from. (maybe I didn’t look close enough?) to keep things short, ProStreet follows EA’s traditional cookie-cutter concept and adds things that are too minor and incremental to make a significant difference. hence, it comes off as a boring expansion rather than a great sequel.
**Graphics: **ProStreet looks disappointing. the only nice thing about the graphics are the car models, which too look really jagged even after applying 16x AA. the character models look abysmal by today’s standards; and even though the demo is based on a dusky desert setting, there aren’t any fancy HDR or dirt/mud effects to be found. to top it off, NFS: PS has the fugliest smoke effect I’ve seen in a while.
Sound: yo yo homie, dis iz kool! ProStreet follows the route of it’s predecessors and features HipHop/Rap songs by many artists that I really didn’t knew even existed. oh well, we all know, Racing games are only played by bandana-wearing, pot smokin’ hip-gangsters nothing bad about it really, it actually suits the game pretty well (surprisingly) and would’ve probably set a great mood if the gameplay wasn’t dull as a rock.
i read somewhere that they took out chases in this one? that would be sad, because thats pretty much been a standard feature in the past couple of games.
This is just the demo.. so why can we actually wait before really saying its sad.. lots more to come from the whole game.. wait and play it when it does then u can decide for yourself.. i have always been a big fan of nfs.. and this looks exciting and takes pro driving to the next level.. so cheer up play pro style then comment.. Cheers!
