NVidia 9800 GPU Series Rumours !!!!

i was thinking about upgrading my 7600 GPU to the new 8800 GPU series…when i heard rumours about the new 9800 GPU chip sets from Nvidia…if what i have found from the Web till now,is true…then this new NVidia card claims that the upcoming G92 is set to break the 1 Teraflops barrier. The 8800 is capable of about 330 Gflops, which means the green team is suggesting that the 9800 could be three times more powerful.

These are the 9800 GPU Specs i found out from the net…

Pros.

65nm process will allow for better yields and better power consumption. power consumption will be lower than that of a GeForce 8800 GTX.

GeForce 9800 GTX will be over two times faster than a GeForce 8800 Ultra in real world games and applcations.

Even though one of the links claim that the 9800 series is going to b released in November 2007 or may be in X’Mas (December) …i couldn’t find anymore links to support these facts…

But…even the Crysis forums and NVnews websites claim these rumours to be true…

that’s y gave the topic to b a rumor or unconfirmed in other words… and my sincere :slight_smile: apologies for any misinformed data…but i feel its definitely going to happen…

i think mostly d 9800 will b launched in jan/feb followed by the mid range n d lower end parts abt 3-4 months later..so dats abt may/june.

dats how nvidia has been doin it till now.

^^^uptill now they have released their highest gen card in Nov-Dec, followed by the mid to low end card. So they have already changed the strategy to match with ATIs offering.

Nope Jen Sung the CEO announced during their quarterly results that it will be the said period, they aldready having issues with supply of 8800 GT which they need to iron out first.

Its the other way around actually,Since amd has nothing to really compete with 88GTX,why should they be bothered to rush the next high end so quickly..

Although you cannot consider a G92 a really high end,more of a shrink,still its good enough for upper midrange and lower high end parts..

I can imagine a new architecture within ~4 months..

Why launch anything faster so soon when you already lead the speed game?
competition is what makes these guys tick, and they haven’t got that have they? I’d say another 5-6 months…
