That’s gr8 but does it support G965 based mobos?
Yes…it does work with G965 like my DG965RY, which even u seem to own. One gr8 thing about openSuSE (that’s what its called now) is its complete out-of-the-box (download the DVD).
Read reviews:
1.) Putting openSUSE 10.2 through its paces
2.) JonRob’s blog: openSUSE 10.2
Have u tried running the 3D desktop? Does the 3D desktop run out of the box or do i have to do any configuration?
and one more query:
From where did u got the DVD?
Well FC6 dosent show my Asus P5B’s ethernet in it’s list.
Does suse 10.2 have support for this.
XGL worked fine without configurations out-of-the-box for me. But after the install I just got the Intel drivers. So not sure if openSuSE drivers made XGL work or the intel drivers. I downloaded the DVD from the torrent on the openSuSE site.
I didnt know what ethernet P5B uses…but then found its using the RTL8111B PCI-E Gb LAN. It’ll work since there was a nice hack done for the RTL8168 in the 10.2 kernel.
Ok thanks for that info (repped u!).
Can u give me the link from where i can download the Intel drivers?
BTW, yesterday night i tried booting FC6 DVD with all-generic-ide option. It passes the first hurdle but then it displays the message that Anaconda installer is starting and goes into some sort of sleep. I waited for 50-10 minutes but there was no response…
Also, when i tried booting my installed Mandriva 2007, it started booting and then it doesn’t run. It stops after a stage and gives no response . If i press, Ctrl+alt+del, then it reboots the machine…
Lots of problems, but i think the solution is OpenSuse 10.2.
I wanted to try Mandriva 2007, bcoz i think it has Cedega (TransGaming Inc.) and also the Faltout game bundled with the DVD.
I’ll try running it again 2day.
