It dosent have any issues as such. It just runs hot. If you dont overclock it then its fine. Thats what i told you, if your friend wants to play games go for an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and Asus A8N-VM mobo otherwise the D805+ 101GGC is a nice combo for regular use and its a better buy for future use.
Guys,
Thanks guys i would go for 805 …!!!
what about Intel Desktop Board D915PBL or the D945GNT??
D101 is only DDR and for future reselling and stuffs doesnt it make sense to go for DDR2 with 667 .. ??
And also plz suggest a 17" LCD for around 13K…
Iam also looking for a trusty shop in Richie street,Chennai …
^^Not really, DDR1 is more than enough for that processor because of the low FSB. DDR2 is not worth the extra cost because of the high latency @ relatively low speed(cheap ddr-2 533 that is). The 915PBL iirc does not support dual core, on intel chipsets its only the 945 series and upwards.
The 17" LCD of choice is the Samsung 740N or Benq FP71E(+)
I buy all my stuffs from Delta Peripherals ( www.deltapage.com) . They know me very well and offer me good price(afaik). If you want you can use my name there. Pm me for details:).
Hey, you should help out only those ppl who attend meets regularly. Lol. JK.
Yeah. Delta is decent, but then there are lots of shops who are priced cheaper. Service is from the manufacturer anyway, so shop of purchase doesnt matter a lot.
Hi
My friend recently brought pentium d 820. but the processor was running very hot. So he changed to amd 3500+.
The new processor from intel based on prescott cores{on lga 775 socket}
get heated very quickly so you need a large fan which will produce huge noice. so io will tell u to stay away form new pentium processor . Why dont you go for amd 3500+ it is far better than intel.
Get the PentiumD with the cheapest DDR2 motherboard that you can find compatible. The upgrade path is smoother and the 2 cores do make a different. An extra case fan or 2 should take care of the temp issues.
