Picasa gets a new look - Looking Flickred!

On the heels of a major upgrade earlier this week that added facial recognition and video-editing features to its Picasa photo management service, Google added a new Explore page today that shows off the most popular public photos uploaded by members. In addition to the featured photos, shown in a 3 X 4 grid, the Explore page also shows the most recent photos uploaded in a slide-show widget. Below, it offers a list of the most popular tags. For instance, here are pictures tagged “New York.â€

sh33t - What’s google coming to ? After Chrome’s disappointment, now this! :stuck_out_tongue:
The Picasa Explore page really looks crappy! I mean Flickr has really interesting “Interesting” photos.. Picasa’s Interesting ones look half that interesting!

Excellent..now i can use picasa..Last look was fugly..

Will give it a try, but i like Windows Live Photo Gallery more.
Waiting for the Wave 3, only then can i make the switch to picasa if it’s still better than WLPG wave 3.

No face tagging in the client edition, only the web albums !! A big no from me.. *again waiting for WLPG

I hate the rounded buttons google uses in picasa. Looks cartoonish and bloated.

The Photo previewer is pretty fast and feature rich, but not as fast as Fast Picture Viewer, which is really fast and quick with its Multi proc / core support and GPU Acceleration support. Witnessed a second’s loading time with Picasa’s previewer whereas FPV displays the pics at the scroll of the mouse withouth any loading time.
