Hi guys

the budget for de comp is around 60-65k

purpose - gaming

let it be a dual core proccy, im goin in for AMD

These are the things that i dont require

Dvd Writer - As I have Sony DRU810

Speakers

Mouse - As I have Microsoft Optical Mouse Comfort 3000

Keyboard - Microsoft Wired Keyboard 500

So… any suggestions?

Id b requiring a good sound card heatsink etc for ocing, Im plannin 2 go 4 de 7900GT(TE Offer - Leadtek)

Opy 165 + DFI NF4 Ultra D + 2 GB UCCC (if you can get it… or Micron -5BD) + 7600GT. If you can stretch more, then the 7900GT…

Antect NEO HE 500 Watts… dont settle for anything less on the PSU…

That’s a decent budget… if you’re not in a hurry, wait for Core 2 Duo (in 2 months), else get an Intel Core Duo (not sure if they’re available locally).

Isnt the Hyper 6+ around Rs2800. Atleast thats what it says in the price guide, from SMC, Delhi. I did enquire in the market yesterday and got quotes from about Rs3900~4000. ITDepot also quotes somewhere in that range. Maybe Mohit can clarify, cuz he is the one who has posted it in the TE priceguide.

^^If u ask me going for a 3000+ on a Ultra D isnt all that good. Id rather spend more a proccy than a mobo. Dual core is the future, id say go for a dual core at least a X2 3800+ for 15k. And a bigger hdd would be worth the price, u get 200 GB for less than 4k. Why would u want to get 80 GB for 2.4k?

^^He already has a 160gig and 80gig. And dual core will be out of his budget still… and he wants for gaming, so i told him not to settle anything less than 7900GT.

3000+ and ultra-d are very good partners if you ask me:P.

LOL I use a 3000+ and am very happy with performance. Dual core still has zero use for gamers. You have to deal with that insane heat and the extra performance of dual core can easily be gained by a bit of overclocking.

My dad wants to buy the above said configuration from Saudi Arabia, if you guys say that its not advisable please give me a reason, as I have to reply 2 my dad and if possible give me a link where i cud find de price of de components in Saudi.. thnx in advance

Yea i get what u guys are saying, but the future is dual core. Dual core is gonna look a lot better say six months or one year down the line. So id rather get a dual core processor and decent motherboard than get a better(read: more expensive) mobo and a single core processor. Just my two cents tho, as they say “Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one”

forgot to tell ya guyz… everything has been bought(except the ram) and assembled and running fine:). Tried my best cable management. He’ll be posting the pic soon.

thats all for now, he’ll get a soundcard sometimes later, a Xp-90 or anyother good HSF available in saudi.

Now can anyone help me getting him a 2*1GB Transcend uccc ram, not available in chennai.
