Hey guys a cousin of mine is looking for a 17" monitor…and i really i ahve no clue as to which brands to look for…
So please help

Budget, LCD or CRT? Be a bit more specific.
CRT is what he is looking for…but if a LCD is reasonably priced he might consider..
But remains the first choice
If you want a CRT, a 17" is gonna be around 6.8K or so. Samsung 793DF/Viewsonic E71F are the best out there. A 17" TFT is gonna cost a min of 16K.
I just Bought a samsung 793MB two days back… Got it for 6750…
I use the 793MB and I love it… I have not had any problems with it… and it works beautifully…
It is almost the same as 793DF except for 2 differences.
In the MB(Magic Bright), you can adjust the brightness if the screen with 4 modes. Text. Internet, Games, Movies.
The brightness increases from each mode and movie mode is the brightest. The difference is very obvious.
And also, the DynaFlat is white(or beige) in colour while the MB is black…
Well MB is also available in Silver Black…
Most 17" monitors have a max resolution of 1024*768 @ 75hz…
Is there any 17" monitor which supports higher resolutions with decent refresh rates or will a 19" monitor be required?
Most of them support 1152x864 @75 Hz, 1280x960 @72Hz.

My LG E700S gives me 1024x768@85Hz. Am running 1152x864 @ 75Hz.
